One of the best games I've played in the last few years though - best played with good, bassy speakers turned up nice and loud. The gore nest frenzy is epic.

Interesting that the leakdown test came back OK, I would've thought it'd be blowby when you're flat out pushing a puddle of oil into the inlet which then gets burnt off the rest of the lap. I'd be looking at getting a catch tank then you can really see what's going on.

Took a bit of work tweaking the diff (it was far too aggressive), but 1:06.363 is my best so far. Same settings as before - ABS only. I'm taking 2nd for the chicane entry, then short-shifting just before the 2nd apex to 3rd to settle the car for that nasty bump on the exit.

If you don't want a compressor I've been using the Clarke mains one for a few years, not found anything it couldn't shift yet, makes hub nuts etc a doddle. The only downside is it's rather big, so sometimes it doesn't work for suspension.

You really shouldn't need an i7 for photo editing unless you're doing massive full-format layered monstrosities. i5 + 8/16GB RAM.

Cheers guys. 1:12 with a pad is really good - no way I'd even get close with one. Even a cheap wheel (mine is the Logitech Force GT that came with GT5) makes a huge difference, especially tracks with long sweeping corners. I reckon you could go faster if you took more downforce off the car and...

Bit more work today, went for a lower downforce setup, quite a good result! Just got to shave a smidge off and that's the record. Only ABS for aids.

Difficult track! Never done it before, had to take quite a lot of practice laps, but managed to get into the 1:12s. I had a high 1:11 at one point, but apparently I got disconnected from the servers and the time was lost! Bugger. :\

Yep, the Company of Heroes effect - great game, but it split the genre. For me I think Red Alert 2 was the apex of the RTS genre - you could be a base builder, but you had to be aggressive with certain scenarios as well, not just turtle and deploy a swarm of tesla/prism tanks to beat your enemy.

Just give me something half way between DoW1 and Supreme Commander and I could die happy. DoW2 was a bit disappointing because they neutered the base-building aspect.

Any fault codes now? If it's getting fuel and spark it must be another electronic issue.

Easily done imo, I had my cams in 180° out when refitted... Luckily just turning it over by hand.

Exactly what happened to mine - cambelt had been changed in the history, but someone skimped on the rest of the bits while they were there, and an idler disintegrated = 16 bent valves.

47.560 is my best so far on PC, no aids, can't cope with how quick that fastest lap was in comparison!

A 3/8" or 1/2" breaker bar end (can't remember which) fits perfectly in the tensioner hole instead of the special tool. FWIW it's a s**t job.

Probably just me being a tit - got there in the end and all timed up correctly (with the £££ tools)
