This kind of thing makes me sick..........
A few years ago my Dad had just finished cleaning his (white) Focus when a car sped passed and someone in it threw an open tin of red paint all over the bonnet. Scum of the earth.
I'm really getting into this lark........ Paid the fiver to become a member. I also ordered a window sticker, a tax disc holder in black and a key ring. Awesome.
When i used to own the Smart Roadster i used to have other owners waving at me and flashing etc all the time....... it was never me who started it though it was always the other driver for some reason!?
I would probably acknowledge a Clio Williams driver, i wouldn't do a full glorified wave...
Ha ha that's cool mate i get ya. I know how annoying it is when i'm blinded by some boy racer in his Nova or whatever they drive these days, with his fogs on AND (this annoys me more, actually) ...... a headlight that is out of alignment and pointing up straight into my rear view mirror!
Aye, that is true...... i don't ever drive around with them on i sincerely just put them on for the pic. In hindsight i probably shouldn't have done lol.
Ah yes the power is the obvious one isn't it!......... I had no luck with the GTi at all....... the air con kept conking out on me for some strange reason and also the central locking never worked, it was full of little gremlins.... in effect i had a car that only locked by the key and the boot...
Thanks.... yes they are nice wheels (if a little dirty) . . . . i was driving it home, pulled into a lay-by, thought i'd take a quick pic and i just put the fogs on for the picture! Honest!
After about 2 years of dashed hopes and flirtations with a Peugeot 206 GTi and a Smart Roadster i have finally entered into the ownership of such a great car. Big grins all round for me.
Here is a pic of my new motor. (Sorry if it's a bit big! It's the only one i have!)
I'm going to look at a black mk1 172 on an X plate today which has covered 99,000 miles with full service history, it's up for £3,995.
Was wondering if anybody has any advice, what should i be looking for etc......
Has anybody else got a high mileage 172? I suppose i'm a bit weary of buying...
Yeah, that's a fair point. It's not his car as such as he is a dealer, prob got it from a part ex or something but he was working from home which put me off also.
Thanks all. I didn't know about the 3k thing and obviously neither did the dealer! i will know next time, but still, there was something not quite right about it. . . . . I did a reg check by text, and it came up with 7 previous owners! For a 5 year old car thats quite high!
I'm after either a...
No he shouldn't have!!!! But he was a nutcase nearly wiped some old dear out in a fiesta during the test run!!!!
Yeah it was a cold start, but it was really violent, not like a little judder, the car just didn't want to go.......
It's a shame cos it looked neat and tidy.
All day tomorrow i'm out looking for a good one, got a feeling it's going to be harder than first imagined. I've been to look at 3 now and all were bad.
Anybody got any advice? Would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Just thought i would share my experience i had today.
Arranged to view a 172 exclusive that i had seen advertised. When i got there had a quick look around it and it looked good! The price was reasonable and i had a good feeling that this was going to be the one for me!
Anyways, we (was...
