ok, so i'll try and get to a garage, but am i right in thinking if i need to replace them, i need to do them in pairs, and do the springs need replacing too, or just shocks? thanks, don't want to seem stupid or anything, just wish i new more about cars
just remembering i had some aort of advisary on the mot last time for a ball joint or something with play, maybe i'll dig out the printout when i get home and take a look at that too
umm went down at lunch time but it seems ok, not much travel down, a couple cm's at most, wobbles a bit on rebound but doesn't keep travelling or anything. Will pay attention to be bumps on my way out of the car park this evening and see what it's like.
If all else fails maybe i'll just find a...
i've got this prob too, only in one headlight, unsurprisingly the one with the cover missing, and one ever had any luck with getting replacement covers, either scrappy or dealers,
btw anyone know of a gd scrap yead or breakers type place for parts around Hampshire or Bath/Bristol, would know...
ah will take another look tomorrow, dug out the haynes guide for some bed time reading, and i think both those pictures line up with how it should be... Also know where to look for the anti-roll bar now too!
checked tyre pressures last night, at the most they were only 1psi out from normal, so prity gd, also checked tread and seems the rears are about 3mm so might replace them next month, fronts were done in Jan.
ah thanks, will have a look this afternoon and then go from there, depending on how much a hard knock is, when i first had her i was used to driving 4x4 mainly so started taking speed humps a little to fast, got alot better now though.
Would be handy if it's the drop links, can look into garage...
sorry, would really appreciate a hand anyone can give me,
how can i work out which ones have gone, or do i need to replace all four, also i guess the springs need to be done at the same time... found parts for £220 ish but still don't know how i'd do it, live on a road, and would need to buy &...
i can't understand insurace atm, went through the quote thing to see how the quote changes when i mod different bits (my insurance isn't actually out until nxt jan!) it'd seem chipping it to upto +20bhp would cost me £50 more whilst lowering would be £400. Also a decal or sticker would increase...
yea think i'll go and get one after work, didn't have a watering can either. Still the watering can will have the same outcome, and i've spent loads on other cleaning products now!
ah right, will it be ok to carry on driving like that, or is it a replace asap job.
Also anyone got any ideas on cost? DIY or garage, I don't have any tools but if it's easy and worth it cost wise i could, unless thats gonna void my warranty as i'm still covered by that until July
was considering lowering it a bit, but just looked at insurance and it seems it'll add £400 if i lower by less than 40mm :-s (also decals add £400 to my policy, i'm hoping the cs one on the back window is just a window sticker though!) I can also say bye to any thoughts of changing the alloys as...
recently i've been thinking the car feels like there is more under steer than usual, not really noticing much, but i'm just not as confident on roundabouts and corners at speed, without it feeling like i'm going to end up changing lanes, which isn't great.
Also bumps and stuff in the road are...
need to wash the car again, and was looking for a better method to a bucket of water and squeezing a sponge out over the car and rinsing it that way, found this...
when i booked mine in for Tuesday, he said it'd be a 15min job, so hopefully he wont be too far off, as i only have an hour for lunch which includes getting to them.
Would be grateful if anyone can confirm how long it'll take though, could warn them at work if i'm likely to be late!
Glad it wasn't too bad, drove past but was on the phone to my mum at the time, by the time it saw it was a clio i was at the lights and not even sure if it was anyone from the group or not.
Though about going back and checking but then either thought it'd look odd if it wasn't anyone from the...
If that was mine, it should have been "If your on a country lane, and see a badger, you turn the lights off so it runs away before you hit it"
and it works, i've lived in the middle of nowhere on a 600 acre farm for 21 years, although you have to know the roads like the back of your hand, be...
after reading this i thought i'd better check mine, and surprisingly it's not been done either so booked in on tuesday.
Saw a cable tie being mentioned above, would this be advisable until then, as i'm gonna be doing over 300 miles between now and when it's done, or will it not help?
might be worth checking the battery, when mine went and i called out the rac, the man noticed the battery was the one for the petrol engine instead of the dci, he said it's quite common apparently, people just get the one that shows up cheapest, but with it being the lower capacity of the two it...
Hey thought i'd update this, seeing as my attempt was a success.
Spent a while setting everything up at the weekend, but once everything was diluted etc, it took less than 30mins to get it done per film, have 2 out of three rolls processed now and scanned in, one to go... although taking the...
umm, no idea but i had 2 lights the service and abs one light up a week ago (don't think i have the stability control light) last sunday, panicked at first something was broken but played ignorant next time they didn't come on and haven't since so i'm gonna leave it, maybe if it happens again...
my steering column was creaking over easter, mum heard it and said spray household polish stuff in there, haven't tried it though, has anyone else ever?
Apparently she was told be a friend who'd done it and then tried it in the showgun and it sorted the problem out
Saw one in there the other day with Bagpuss attached to it, surely that'd be dangerous to drive with. Ah it was this one: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_700446_langId_-1_categoryId_165755
ah kwl, thanks ordered the whole set, should be able to get them on tomorrow or Thursday before my run up to Liverpool!
have realised the bulb pack I have is now quite useless thought, headlight, indicators and sidelights will all be different to the spares.
