well i've done it and got 86.5mpg pics to follow when i get home. Not bad for 190bhp barge. I had to do it in 5th gear so i recon i could probably get the same doing 70mph in 6th gear. Bet it doesn't take twenty minutes to get home, 50mph ftl
i'm going to see if i can get off the street i'm curious now as to what it would get. Cruise control is s**t i'll just try and keep it at 50mph or more.
when the weather is better i'll do it, i can't get off the street at the minute. i'll set the cruise control and take two pics at 20 minute intervals. It'll be intresting to see what it does. I may be wrong but it'll be good to see.
The clio is impressive but i think this is better considering its over double the power and was being driven on country roads
at 50mph on a motorway i think i could beat 80mpg
i went out in a zcar's type r engined mini and as that was set up well it handled the power amazingly well and cornered well. The power to weight in one of those is higher than a supercharged clio so aslong as the clio is set up well it should be able to handle the power easily. It all depends...
are there not loads of clauses on trade policies? I was always under the impression it was like classic car insurance where you were limited to mileage and times you could drive. I also thought modifications were a no no
Getting insurance in the BL postcode is becoming near impossible now as most companies are point blankly refusing to cover cars in that area. What the f**k are we supposed to do? obviously i've bought insurance but no wonder everyone runs round with out it. £1300 for two policies at 27 with full...
my old ph1 did that a couple of times if i went fast in the rain on the motorway. it always used to be fine as soon as it had dried out a bit. i always put it down to water getting into the plugs.
my original thread 2 years ago from when i panicked...
you have just got a bad one. get some fool to swap you for something on pistonheads just let everyone on here know first so they don't get it. There is only so much money you should put into a car before you sell it, crash it, burn it.
over a 1000 mile journey my vectra averaged 57.6mpg not bad at all considering the weight and power. I could of done a lot better but driving sensibly is boring and the roads in scotland are too fun.
Re: The PH1 172 Aprreciation Thread.
Mine is on eibach sportlines and due to being stripped out looks higher than standard. It'll be getting coilovers soon though.
I'm 27 and feel like a right tit driving my ph1 172 its standard on the outside but stripped out with a bucket seat. It doesn't help that its really loud. Much prefer my nice quiet, slightly lowered vectra. I can't bare to part with the clio though for those odd occasions when i get to go for a...
The gp deffinately. They will hold their value better and i personally would prefer one. I've loved all the mini's that my brother has brought home (he works for mini) .
