Just got some -60mm shocks & springs for my Mk1 but not sure if it's gonna rub lots with 15" wheels and 45 profile tyres?
I am worried about having to do arch work
Insurance without pass plus = £1800
Insurance with pass plus = £1300
Pass plus cost = £150
Bit of a no-brainer! And I got pissed up for free with my instructor afterwards, what a legend :D
Thats cos a phone camera mic doesn't pick up low freq's very well :approve:
Im sure when sitting inside the car rattling doesn't even come into it
JL audio kit is more than a tad dearer than that Alpine stuff listed, I'd go for the Type-R sub if I was you though. You might want a more powerful amp though..
Amping front comps and running rears off the HU is fine, I do it myself!
Can't help with any installation Q's as I've got a Mk1, but...
If i was to remove the 2 heating vents from the middle of my Mk1 dash, could I get hold of an adaptor to put a DIN-sized headunit (with a motorised dvd screen) in?
Anyone done this before? :approve:
It doesn't weigh that much, just strengthens the panels so they don't flex as much. It does get expensive though, I've just done the floor of my boot and the main panels of the doors. Sounds soo much better!
Looks nice & clean...see if you can lift some body coloured bumpers from an RT though, would look s**t hot.
Sports badge and alloys not to my taste though :)
Boxed subs in the boot, Components in the door and dash holes, and tweeters flushed into the dash or A pillars.
If your rear passengers are complaining some more 13cm components in the standard mounts (yes they are 10cm but you can get an adaptor) should shut them up :)
Is it possible to modify the front doorcards to take a 16cm woofer in a Mk1?
I'm a bit worried about losing the capability to open the window fully :approve:
Avoid at all costs, those are PMPO (maximum) figures, the real world output for that amp is probably nearer 500-1000w. And it's manufactured on the cheap in the far east, hence won't last and will be inefficient.
Friend of mine bought some 3000w 6x9's from there and was wondering why my 150w...
I want to put 4 component speakers in my car, 2 in the front door cards and 2 in the rear quarter's.
My problem is where to put them in the rear quarters as there seems to be not enough bare plastic to pillage!!
If you aint bothered about sound quality or boot space go for the Sonys.
edit: If your keeping the rest of your speakers standard, its likely the 2x12 Sony's will be far louder than the rest of your system,
