Thinking about lowering my car 35-40mm would I have to have the wheel alignments set (e.g. tracking camber ect) to stop the edges of the tyres getting fcuked??

I think you find most insurance companies won’t insure any car over £4K value TPFT and youd have to be an idiot to insure anything worth more than that TPFT. The only car i have been TPFT on was my first car a £1000 nova.

My mate had a quote on a 172 the other day because hes thinking about changeing his car soon. He is 21 with 3 years NCD and no points the quotes came back as - Tesco £1250 Elephant £1220 Privilege £1080

Out of interest i went on the DirectLine site for a quote, had a quote on a Cup and a valver the Cup was a few quid over a grand and the valver was only 100 quid less:o. Wasnt suprised that the Cup was a grand (because i clamed last year and lost all my NCD) but i would have expected the valver...

???:confused: 172 engine in an Elise?? The Elise been out a lot longer than the 172 think it came out on P Reg or something so the 172 engine wouldnt have been about in its present form. Anyhow hasn’t the 1.8 K-series got shed-loads of tuning potential I think that’s why they used it.

Should be getting a lot less than that mate, a normal Megabusa should do a 9.8sec 1/4 mile according to Westfield specs.

my old STD 172 made 162bhp then a month later made 174bhp on the same rollers only difference was a much cooler day???:confused:
