That is what I thought as well....I hope someone can shed some light on this...maybe it is an ECU thing going on...going out ina couple of mins...to try it again!!
Hello Ive had my 172 since the beginning of December...since Day 1 I have run it mostly on Optimax(98+Ron)...on the odd occassion I have put in small amounts of unleaded (95Ron) and the difference was noticable (Only when no shell garages about).
Using Optimax the green change gear light would...
Canuba wax such as Zymol of Williams F1 polish (Rebadged Zymol) are great products....give your car 3 coats of polish of either of the above and you will be amazed...Auto Glym...used if for many years and ok..
Meguires is the one i havent tried yet , may do so this summer since i have heard...
it may not be good for your paintwork , i would agree especially if you wash your car every weekend in a carwash....but with good polishes and hardness of paint...once a month in carwash shouldnt be a problem.
Dont forget when you sell the car, the dealer doesnt give a toss about howmany times...
Went to Arc car wash yesterday.....guy jet washing my 172 before it went under the rollers stopped and tapped on the window...he asked "what I had polished the car with?", I said the canuba wax stuff he said he was amazed at the water just bouncing straight back off the paintwork" he hadnt seen...
I have an electric buffer, but it is packed away in storage...waiting to move house. It is really good on the flat bits, takes alot of the effort out...could do with it now for the simoniz stuff
after polishing the car wednesday, i used that Back To Black stuff on the black bits on back bumper, wiper arms, window seals and front grills and around fog lamps and aerial etc...surprisingly i did the tyres with it and gave them a rub with a cloth and they came up brilliant, still look good today
Going to buy some simoniz old fashioned wax after I have polished up the car to top shine....£4.99 isnt to bad and if they are selling it after all of these years they must be doing something right...respect to Colin_S
autoglym is only effective because it cuts into the paint work...keep rubbing it and one day you will be down to the primer...
if the F1 stuff was complete rubbish then it wouldnt give a mirror shine...but it didnt take any paint of the car..I agree the branding idea is shallow....i am sure by...
Had to change a conti sport 195/45/R16 it cost £65 + vat for same tyre...asked the tyre people about what performance tyres they thought were best in this size...
Out top came the Eagle F1 followed by the Uniroyal rain sport tyre....they didnt have anything good to say about the continental...

I have used it before, the stuff I put on today is a wax....i have used the simoniz stuff in the past on the alloy wheels of my Ford Puma....kept them in great condition
I think it is the Zymol polish...had it of been in the shop it would of only cost £7.99 instead of £9.99 . Williams are doing sh*te in formula 1 anyway..not really worth the branding.
Went to halfords today to buy Zymol Canuba wax polish to do my iceberg silver 172, they didnt have any left...normally I use Auto Glym, but instead I bought Williams F1 canuba wax polish as last resort (probably rebadged Zymol).
Got home, washed the car and polished it 3 times wuth the...
I had the choice between the Cup and the 172 but for the .3 of a second difference the Cup offered. I decided on having the creature comforts and a spare wheel in case I got a flat....but the window demist is nice too !!
