Long Live Aircon....this Saturday is going to be an absolute scorcher.....but in my 172...hopefully the heat reflective screen will keep the heat down and the aircon will be on.....hopefully I will find a couple of Cups to race......they will be easy to spot as they will be sweating and have the...
Thank the lord for my 172...outside today was 28oc...in traffic I had the aircon cooling me down nicely at 16oc...the interior felt like ice....although the Cup is .2 faster to 60...any cup owners would of been baking in the traffic jam i was in !!!....172s are cool lol
:cool::cool:
i havent had to top up my 172 since 7000 miles, now on 15000 miles...but when i did i bought halfords silver bottled 5w 40w-semi synthetic...it met all the standards and did exactly as said on the tin !!!!
change the oil at 12000s .....some people change it at 1000 miles....dont think it makes much difference to be honest....just keep driving it hard everyday once warmed up
Hello my 172 has a whirring noise which can be heard on tick over, it is kind og coming from behind the centre of the dash bored and it whines....any idea what it could be?....I thought it may be a noisey fuel pump....did the tank of 95 ron stuff cause it?
Your car has NCAP 4 safety rating...it has done its job but the car will never be that strong again....make sure its written off.
My last car was rammed from the side last year by a guy coming out of a side road...i went to hospital the next morning with delayed whiplash...five hours after...
SI172.....optimax makes the car less noisey than unleaded...and unleaded feels as if the power has dropped off..
Just think if you come across a cup running unleaded and you have superunleaded....you could be a better driver and beat the cup...i have beat a few and the optimax would give you...
si172....i find normal unleaded makes the car noisey when reved...it also seems to labour and loose power....but with optimax it seems to roar more and the power is definately there, its great cruising at 90mph on the motorway you can put your foot down and go...this weekend i am doing 300 miles...
Hi Just been out to put half a tank of optimax in the 172....before starting the car up again, i turned the ignition onto position 1 so the fuel pump could be heard wurring away...switched it off and then back to the 1 position for the fuel pump second time...then started. her up.....maybe the...

A very good car to purchase, looks great, has the noise, I was behind one last week and he had the back end sliding amazingly because of the rear wheel drive...The V6 was awesome...right choice, plus in the future you can upgrade to the Mk2 version.
Cuppy i bet your clio has got 152bhp at the wheels, you are not in the excusive club because I could of bought one...but instead i choose to pay more for a 172.....
But like the cup i can tune the 172.
The clio cup unfortunately is destined to replace the ultimate boyracer car the Citreon saxo...because it is cheap...this will reflect in 2 years time on the resale value :-(
Like the Citreon Saxo 19 - 24 yr olds with white baseball cap and kappa tracksuit bottoms willl buy the cup because of...
Toads are good, makesure you get the slimline siren to fit under the bonnet as there isnt much room. I believe they do slimline-battery backup jobbies....you could have the fullsize one fitted in the car under the dashboard as an extra option
I have had this very problem before with a previous car.
What happened was the tyres settled on the rims after 100 - 200 miles....this sent the balancing out.
Went back and had the wheels re-balanced and the problem went away.
I have had this before.....one new tyres when they are balanced, the balance can be out after driving say for 100 - 200 miles.... go back and have them rebalanced because the tyres have settled on the rims now and have them redone.
The wobble will go away...my 172 is rock steady at 140mph+ on...
do you have legal cover on your policy? if so then you are entitled to free legal advice...if you also have this policy then they are able to reclaim your costs of the third party without taking the claim thru your policy at all.
The other way is small claims courts at a cost to you of £72...
Simply advice, small claims court, it costs £73 to have your case heard...both parties sit with an independent legal guy and outcome is decided....if you loose you dont pay other halfs legal costs...also check it out with your insurance company, you can do this if you have taken out legal cover...
Did 450 miles roundtrip today...started on half tank of petrol...ran it to near empty and filled up with texaco super unleaded and then later on BR superunleaded and between optimax and SUL I couldnt tell the difference to be honest....But the difference is noticable when running on RON 95...
My 172 will do 144mph on a private flat road because of gearing limitations and 147 downhills on a private road due to the law of physics helping out !!
CR172... No it didnt have stickers all over it....it was a metallic light green thing and a single 2 1/2 inch pipe on the back, 17/18 inch wheels and 60 mm springs on it.... It didnt have the washer balls on it either...but clearly had 172 badges on it.
