The original question was concering water in the engine.
If it rains there is no issue with the CAf in the grill / fog light.
Also, you would have to go through a VERY deep puddle for the water to travel up the CAF, through the air box and into the engine!
yeh, Silicon or firegum type stuff on the meeting faces will be fine, didn't even put the gasket on one end as it was mangled and I didn't have a new one.
I am a big user of F1's, but have had some T1r's fitted recently and while not quite as good, still excellent tyres and much better than Contisports and P-Zero's (Of which I've also used).
For the price, T1r's are excellent
Should be a new forum rule - If someone asks for something and someone else can find it in 1 search attempt then the person asking should be banned forever
Panel Filter with cold air feed from box to bumper
Matched Inlet
Decat
Keep an eye out for bargain on here / ebay and you've got some effective mods for cheap
H 75mm X W 150mm if I remember correctly (which would make sense seeing as its a semi circle.
Best this to do it cut smaller and take your time so it fits perfect, too big and it's messed up totally!
Sounds a little vague that does!
I mean, if the parts were all seized up and not flowing properly you'd be losing power? You want the engine to not be overcoming it's own issues!
I know what you're saying, a light quick reving engine isn't producing as much torque (think motor bike / F1) but...
naievity lol.
I'm having my engine rebuilt so the head work is costing next to nothing so might as well get it done.
Of course Decat makes a difference (have you even cut one open?!), and seeing as I got one for £60 was well worth it!
Yes I know TB's or Turbo get more torque, but I want...
Yeh but the GDi 1500quid doesn't include port/polished head or decat which should give it a little bit more? Especially if I get live remap from RSTuning.
Hi
What would you expect to see from:
Panel filter
Matched inlet
Port/polished head
428 Cat Cams
Decat Performance Exhaust
Remap
This is on a 172.
Maybe someone has similar mods so can comment on driveability too?
Thanks
Tom
Mine is 4 1/2 yrs, 43k miles.
Not a tit for not being able to afford it! lol.
As for damage, not too bad just valves. Gives me an excuse to get the cams I want and some head work :) Should run better than ever after!
So, I couldn't afford the cam belt change in the summer so was going to wait till after Christmas and guess what? Tensioner pully failed, belt skipped a few teeth and bam - one engine in need of work!
Lesson to all - Change the cam belt before it is required to save future costs!
Tom
I have this, doesn't start first time but stop and try again and ALWAYS fires up perfectly second try. Tends to happy more in wet warm mornings, cold doesn't seem to be an issue.
