I had a problem where my exhaust seemed louder and performance was down. Anyway, checked everything on the exhaust - was all OK. Checked lots of other stuff and no issues. Then I opened my airbox....the ITG filter was Fully Saturated with oil, and it had been dripping down and there was a...
hahahaha, I would be soooo dissapointed with my car If I had never taken it above 4500rpm! I've had my limiter raised to 7800rpm and it's done 5000miles are very hard driving and feels great.
Take the wheel off and there are 3 or 4 obvious screws......the time it takes to right on here you could be out there getting your hands dirty!
Its at the end of the CAF which is behind the horns in the wheel arch.
Sounds like a job for tomorrow. I have a sneaky suspicion where it might be coming from - decat to manifold as we had trouble with those bolts getting on the back of them

So my exhaust is louder than it used to be and I've noticed a drop in acceleration? I was thinking maybe the warmer weather having an affect? Maybe ignition problems so excess fuel in exhaust? Maybe blowing exhaust?
Any input welcomed?
O, I'm running Decat GDi system, inlet matched...
On wet / cold mornings my car NEVER starts first time, but ALWAYS starts second time. I can crank it for 1sec or 10secs and it won't start, but stop and retry and it fire's up perfect.
I thought it might be an immobiliser problem but I only seem to get it when it's cold or wet so maybe thinking...
Start at the lights on the island at the end of the ring road and complete one lap back to the lights. Ideally it should be done at night with little traffic but I was on my way through and we thought we'd do a quick tour de coventry!

Yeh you can do it at home, but you'll need to slacken off the top engine mount (left hand side as you look at it) and jack the engine up a couple of inches to get to a bolt of the left end of the block (as you look at it)
I've got it, deep throaty rather than raspy. Sounds good. I've just fitted a decat so will be slightly different, but I can attempt a recording tomorrow.
There's a vid on here with it fitted to a TB'd car, but to be honest that will sound so much different

Yeh, i'm gutted about the corsa it had real potential especially being Turbo. Rumour has it the new Fiesta ST will be 1.6 turbo, couple that with the good handling and that could be awesome
yeh include thread, you'll need a pitch gauge, though to be honest the pitch is pretty much standard depending on the dia. Though if its NPT or UNF it isn't really going to help measureing in metric unless you've got a Zeus book or similar
