It's not too bad a price at £1,995 TBH. Obviously you should try to get it cheaper but it's still worth it IMO. CS has a tendency to de-value the 1*2's for some reason.

Better to get a new stainless one IMO. If it's started rusting, welding it up won't help all that much. It'll just rust somewhere else and you'll be back to square one.

There is a version out which wires the Mini DisplayPort plus the audio out cable into the same female HDMI port. I would have a look for one for you but I've got to shoot off into a training session in like.... 5 minutes ago.

The older MBP's don't output sound through the Mini DisplayPort IIRC, so you'd need the version which has connectors for the headphone / line out as well. Only the newer Unibody MBP's can output sound through the Mini DisplayPort AFAIK (like mine, when it arrives :p )

If you're only doing basic stuff, ANY newish Mac will be fine. You could get away with a Mac Mini to do all that stuff TBH. The only downsides are that you'd need a separate monitor and it might struggle to play 1080p video depending on how old it is.

Get the refurbed one. They're as good as new anyway (the outer casing gets changed over if there's the slightest bit of damage), they still come with Apple warranty and are essentially still the same machine. Only difference is that they don't come in a fancy box and they're cheaper.

OEM brakes are fine for the 280-300bhp mark as long as you don't drive like a complete bell. Uprated brakes would make a big difference though, especially on track.

LOL @ everyone doubting how quick charged Clio's really are. My 172 currently has a similar amount of power at the wheels as SpagBol's and trust me on this, a C4S is not as quick up to 150ish. Neither is a standard Evo VIII FQ360 from a rolling start! I know nobody will believe me / us, but TBH...
