I dont know where all the bad words come from about the A539s
I have had them on and with the correct psi's for the setup of the car.
They have been very good for the price of them.
They lack the ultimate grip of say f1s, but there not much off it. And in the wet there is plenty of grip and...
Well if you look at the older clios they have been run on the lesser oils and are still going.
So is there really a long term benefit as with clios everything falls apart anyway.
So you would end up having to replace everything around the engine.
Modern oil these days has to pass tests so it can be sold, and the standards which are set these days are so much higher than they used to be.
So the oil which is from a good manufacturer will do the job nicely.
The chances are if you spend more on an expensive oil you will be less willing...
Think of all the old cars which have done 100k + they wernt serviced with special oil, and they still work.
So for road applications you dont need to spend a fortune. just well branded oil and regular changes.
Saw quite a few today:
197 In silver on the M3 Winchester Bound
182 In Black 2 Cars behind me on Zig Zag Hill
197 In Blue On the M27, was parked next to you at the lights old and new style
197 In black coming out of fareham
Who said 197s wern't common ;)
o2 are terrible, i had been a contract customer for 3 years, and wanted to renew.
So i went through the usual every department etc. So 3 departments later i got what i wanted, £10 off line rental and some old random phone.
So i was happy with that, as far as i was concerned i had entered...
As 1st has the lowest gear ratio compared to the other forward gears thus meaning the syncromesh has alot more work to do in comparison to the other gears.
When i asked about a standard exhaust system from renault the centre section was around £70 iirc wasnt much. but the back box was was over double the centre sections price.
Use a decent sized breaker bar, and as you have the bolt abit out use some wd40 on the threads and wind it back in abit and keep undoing etc.
Mine where really stiff with a big breaker bar.
Lol the water bans are all a joke.
You pay for a service to be delivered, and if it isnt delivered why should you have to pay for it?
You wouldnt pay the full price for 2pints of milk if it was only half full.
So why should you with water?
Could be worth giving it a go, would make the setup alot stiffer but still have a normal ride height.
On my 1.2 ph3 the hub spacing was 54mm and iirc valver shocks are 54mm.
Gsf would be the cheapest for shocks or Unipart etc.
When i refurbed my Williams wheels, i used a file to take out the curbing from the rim and sand paper to make it nice and smooth.
Then i got them shot blasted and powdercoated.
Look good now.
Sure none of the balancers have come off the offending wheel? The stick on ones come off easily.
Checked the wheel is tight? Checked that the driveshaft nut is nice and tight? has a high torque that nut.
Could be worth looking at the decat, but not sure how that would effect the steering...
Poor fitment being the biggest pain,
At the moment it doesnt hang right and the centre section is to big to go into the exhaust tunnel.
The baffles go. The hangers snap, the welds fail.
