yeah it could be the coil pack or your tps as mine did that took it for a diagnostic check and the tps was buggered only worked when it felt like it. doubt your is that thou as its misfiring on only one cylinder, id go for the coil pack that sound about right to me.

hahahaha this made me laugh hard :lolup: its a mk 1 1.4??? it could be just a tired engine or have flat tyres maybe?? best thing to do is cut a hole in the floor and do a fred flitstone to get it over 100mph :rasp:

all clio sport engines are the same you just need to change your throttle body over as the ph 2's have electric throttles and ph 1's have a cable. other than that everything is the same.

i see so the grooves go against the pads so to pick up the air to keep cool. thanks for the pic its a great help :) do you notice better braking with them fitted???

yeah i do car repairs myself and id charge about £30 to change front discs and pads it would cost more at a garage thou.

im 31 with no ncb and 2 driving bans on my licence and i pay £648 fully comp for my ph1 172 :)

mine wobbles under braking but i know i need new front shocks which is caursing this problem.

hi all, i getting some drilledand grooved brakes all round at the end of the month for my ph1 172 i may be thick here but which way do the grooves go?? there in a kinda spirral and just wonder if they face towards the front or back of the car?????

mine used to show as a 1.2 sport but infact its a 172, its now fine with insurances so i wouldnt worry to much.

as above^^^ its fine mines been like it for yr or so and had no problems.

same as me its because your orignal shocks have the long piston arm you need to get hold of some short shroke shocks and it will be snug as a bug in a rug lol

so how much would you say a good price is for a diagnosic check would be? and can any local garage take this on or does it have to be renault dealers only??

a garage will charge the earth to fix the fault if its a part on it way out id rather know without a garage so i can just buy that part.

ive also done a compression test and all cylinders are working fine.

if you get underneath your car your see the mounts there what the exhaust hangers go into its mainly the back one that goes on the left hand side and sits just behind the passenger rear wheel.

i have a spare 172 ph1 box but it has a hole in the casing if you wonna refurb it they should beable to sort that out aswell only want £50 for it.

i was unsure about the cup as the box i tried fitting was from a NORMAL phase 2 172. bit silly having all that power and no abs thou lol

the phase 1 box wont fit the phase 2 ive fitted 2 boxes in my car in 5 yrs, the first replacement was from a normal phase 2 172 and the speedo input/ sensor didnt fit in the box. i believe the phase 2 used there speedo's from the abs, all gears are longer in the phase 1 as i have proven this...

what oil goes in the gearbox? grade etc i need to check my levels as i have a slight leak aswell.

yeah my battery for my sport from halfords cost me 90 quid or 89.99 lol

ive changed the coil pack, leads and spark plugs.

its the battery chap mine did the same and changed the battery and its fine now.

yeah if you sit at idle a rev hard it misfires nearly every time. have you investigated teh problem??
