Imperial Blue is a great colour, so I'll be sure to take lots of pics if Tommy goes with me :
Tommy - I've just replied to your PM, sorry for the delay, my phone has been playing up all day
Mark (hi!) - I got an ST in the end, I couldn't find a tidy example of an FRP when I was looking to buy...
Hi Tommy,
Thanks for the PM, I'll reply shortly but Leicester is do-able for me. What state is the Alcantara in on the interior? Any pics please?
Also, thanks for the recommendations guys x I always wanted an FRP so this would be a pleasure
LOL!
I do prefer doing them at home, but quite often people only want machine polishing, which I'll do as long as they are competent enough at the cleaning process, which a lot of people are these days, they just lack the confidence/skills to correct paintwork. So, not much gear to carry...
Did he put your old coils on? I may coil up the R27 for a few months to use up the rest of the warranty, then change to a 200. I'd like to transfer the coils over though - is it a straight swap?
Yeah, I like the new grey, but it could look a bit like paint primer!
I quite like Mercury, but it almost looks too sensible. I reckon GW is a good shout, but I'd have to get a 200 with Cup Chassis.
Totally agree Brian.
The problem is that there isn't enough foam between the plastic sides of the seats and the material on top, which means it doesn't 'give' enough when you get in and out of your car. Have a look at the Focus RS and Corsa VXR - the sides are much more plush, so it's less of...
When the drivers' seat was replaced, the new cover was slightly darker, felt different and seems harder wearing, but it's still beginning to go!
If I get a 200, I'll be getting either full leather, or the standard seats. I've had enough of this now!
My first set was starting to go when I bought it on 18k, but was battered on 29k when it was replaced.
I've done 4k on my second driver seat.
Mileage won't matter though - you do the wear when you get in and out.
Also, Renault have set they will only replace one of each under warranty...
No! Lol! I think I do sit quite 'upright' so my leg does rub against the bolsters whenever I get in and out, but I don't see any other way of doing it!
I guess I could just wear shorts all of the time, but I'd need a better tan.
I had my Recaro covers replaced under warranty about 2-3 months ago, and already my second set have started to wear very slightly and will no doubt continue!
What's the best way of dealing with this? Does anyone use any seat covers?
They are awesome seats, but this is taking the pee now...
They look 'okay' if you take the diffuser off and put them on a bit further back. As standard, they stick out too much and are too thin, so look a bit shite really.
I'd love a quality workhorse like this - looks such a well made car.
Look forward to next weekend Mike - not done a Mk6 Golf yet. I just hope the rain holds off, the forecast doesn't look great :(
I've not heard it on a decent set up yet - sounds impressive though.
I used to really be into AV, had an AVR3802, AVCA1D and a Yamaha DSPA1 in my time. Best kit I had was the Tag AV32R with Rotel Power Amp, was amazing, but a bit OTT for a bedroom at the time :)
