I need a decent wheel cleaner that won't adversely affect my new powder coat finish.
Anyone got any recommendations?
I'd also like to hear what you guys do with regard to maintaining clean wheels (wax, daily wipe, etc.).
:)
Personally, I'd avoid any car without a proof of provenance (unless it's DIRT cheap).
After rectification work and peace of mind servicing - you'd have nearly spent the same money as if you'd bought a pampered one. And it'll still not be worth what you've spent due to the lack of service...
Mine has just passed 86k and still feels very, very good!
Only real problems I've had are all of the engine mounts failing in the first 1k miles of ownership (purchased it @ 83k) and generally needing to replace consumables - Oh, and just need to get a major oil leak sorted (£400 :dead: - new...
I've been very happy with NIS 2010 in Windows 7. Compared to older versions, it's a featherweight!
When it's idling, Task Manager says it's using 7,800k memory.

I think Tom said it was a compromised cam-cover gasket that was leaking badly down the back of the engine and onto the drive shaft and exhaust manifold.
Getting it all rectified on the 5th Jan at JMS and having new belts and matched inlets fitted at the same time! :)
Just glad I didn't fit my...
5W40 is the viscosity recommended for the 1*2, isn't it?
I was told that Halfords 5W40 is made by Comma and that Comma also supply Renault. So the oil you bought should be OE spec? Not sure on the validity of the claim though...
Undertray off.
Support sump on a block of wood (with a trolley jack underneath it!).
Jack up slightly to relieve weight on mount.
Mark on chassis where mount is located.
Undo mount to chassis bolts.
Undo central bolt.
Jack up to make removal of mount easier.
Replace mount and reverse above...
Mine came on the Cup and I thought it'd be a straightforward process. I was told that by using filler, the powder-coat wouldn't stick?
The only option it to re-face the wheel - I assume this involves skimming a few microns off the circumference of the wheel?
After Assassins Creed, I'm not sure I can be arsed with another open-world game. Spending 80% of your time in the game running between missions/ set-pieces is a bit of a cop-out IMO!
I've got a short attention span, so the likes of Uncharted 2 are perfect for me.
Have to see though, I'm sure...
The resolution is that I should contact them at the start of January to have the imperfect wheel sorted.
Apparently, the orange-peely wheel had such bad corrosion that without re-facing the wheel, that was the best finish they could achieve. He said that they would have to charge lots more than...
I'm going to give that a go! Probably f*ck it up though! :)
All of the wheels were equally horrid and riddled with corrosion. I'm bewildered that one out of the four should remain so poorly finished. Fingers crossed tomorrow gets things sorted!
