The sh!tter is that the other 3 are 'as new' - aside from the minor dent on the 3rd wheel. Push came to shove, I could live with that because it's hidden by the tyre and on the inner rim.
Glad to hear that I should be keeping on at them about this!! :)
I paid IRO £200.
Their process (verbatim, from their site):
Stripping the Wheel
All of the wheels delivered to BJV Engineering are chemically stripped to remove the existing finish. The chemical we use has been designed specifically for use on alloy wheels and provides the most effective means...
I got them done by BJV Engineering in Kent. They have a pretty good reputation as far as I can tell?
My problem is that I can't be without my car for another week (the Elise is at the bodyshop being painted and a work colleague that I was getting a lift with whilst this job was being done has a...
What would you do? How would you expect this to realistically be resolved? Do you think I'm being too picky? :S
The fact that 2 of the wheels were returned in perfect condition (they were all hideously corroded when I sent them away) leads me to believe that I have a point.
2 wheels have...
Can't help with the PAS pump, but:
Imagine developing a substantial cam-cover oil leak that NEEDS fixing! Fortunately it only started this week...
The belts need to be removed to access the area to be repaired = new belts required! FFS, they were new last March!!
I need to find a few hundred...
Sorry, but I've not idea where the assumption that this was a Ph1 came from (aside from the OP's avatar)? :S
The link in the OP *clearly* shows the car as being a Ph2 Cup, hence my response to Jamie's post (selective oversight of the Ph1 comment and prohibited links though, sorry!).
Apologies...
Not a bargain mate, sorry. Especially when you consider that you *should* be factoring in:
- A £700+ cam/ aux belt service
- Tax £200
- MOT (£50) and whatever that may throw up (being a Cat C - this could be anything or nothing, depending upon the quality of the repair!)
 Seriously? A...
Cheers Tom!
I emailed you when I thought it was engine oil though. The above description is my current assessment. :)
The back of the rocker cover has a *very* minor weep, nothing that would reach the driveshaft though.
Re: the smell - All I can say is it's pretty rank smelling (I'm not...
I've stumbled across a leak. :(
About 1.5-2 weeks ago, I had the window down and noticed a burning oil smell whilst sat in traffic. I instantly assumed it was another car because a few days previous I had removed my undertray to just randomly check everything was ok (obsessive compulsive, you...
For me: Mk2 Ph1.
Nice driving in that video BTW 2 live - Though can't believe your mate was happy with you banging off the limiter every 30s!!
Oh, and that Elise driver can't drive for sh!t - hugely inconsiderate too! The S1 118bhp Elise might not be as fast as a Williams, but if his lines had...
I didn't play the original (due to the repetition/ bug issues).
This was difficult to get into (for me) for the first hour, because it assumes you know how to do certain moves. Persevere though, and it's worth it.
As I've said before, it is very similar to GTA IV in some ways. If you liked...
