We went to the Nurburgring in my friends type r anniversary this easter and put it through its paces. We will be going in my Mini later this year hopefully so it will be good to see how they compare, especially in the uphill sections.
It depends how they are put against each other IMO
On a track, a pulley'd mini would beat a CTR, it has a relatively flat torque curve and constant boost.
Next to each other, same gear and putting your foot down, the Mini edges slightly. But fairly even.

Aye, from the outside it sounds ace. Just, when you are right at the back end of it, with cam mic up close it makes it sound very trucky/diesely.
Im going to wip it off on sunday and re-mount and there is a joint right near the beack which may be blowing.
This is (believe it or not) one of the quietest exhausts for the MCS. I dont want anything loud or boomy... but I also dont want it to sound like a diesel on idle.
Fancy a Milltek, but they are LOUD
LOL! I don't think the built in mic did the sound justice, did you watch it until the end? As it sounds much better from the outside further back and in the cabin.
It sounds very similar to the VXR corsa and Astras IMO

Put this together before, playing with a suction mount.... in the pissing down rain... LOL... I love the wooooshing sound it makes, its not loud or boomy. Just right IMO. The wet built in mic didnt do a great job of picking up the other notes, sounds like a jet engine!
