When I enquired on the sibject of using 172 renault side strips I was told by renault themselves that thats not possible as they are different sizes?
Mine goes in to a bodyshop in Barnet tomorrow when I get it back Wednesday I will let you know how colour coding looks.
Any decent bodyshop...
Will enquire on Monday at place Im taking mine too, how much would be for normally colour coding, he fitting and spraying new front wing, sorting out the keyed passenger door and rear wing all for £300!!!
First thought was dodgy but been recommended to him by Rtec so cant be bad!!
Anyone...
mine was 7, all depends where you got it from, sometimes if a dealer say has three branches in relatively close proximity then all cars may be delivered to one and driven to the correct branch, however this is very unusual.
Wow where did you get it done for £150? Everywhere been quoting me £300 ish,
Mine getting done monday with some bodywork after some Tw*t vandalised it. grrr.
Any pics?
Thats one lovely looking job,
Is it assumed that the Viper is the best option when it comes to induction kits for clios then? I only have a 1.2 so any power gain would be greatly appreciated, Mainly want the sound though!
Have seen messages ref: remapping following fitment? what does this...
Just looked at hydraulic suspension - £1500+ ouch that hurts!! cant see me doing that, still want something different though.
Has anyone seen any decent kits for the phase 3 clio. Im looking but they all seem really subtle and just not a lot for your money,
They are some NICE wheels!
No disrespect meant to the guys with 16s, just seems a waste for me to shell out money for minimal difference,
Anyone here now any details for hydraulic suspension? Prices? handling etc, heard at one stage makes the car handle like a ship! but not certain how...
Cheers for advice all, Already decked it 60mm, its the subject of the SLAM SLAM SLAM post in the spotted section,
16s not really big enough difference from the standard 15s to make it worth it, and I was kinda intrigued by the whole lets be different and put it on 18s!!!
Is there anyone on...
The petrol used bit on the built in computer is Sh*t, It has never been accurate from the start.
When I fist got my clio 1.2 16v I could easily get 50-60mpg from the first half of the tank by driving granny style, now four months old and 10 000 miles in Im lucky to get 40.... dodgy I know...
No disrespect to the other guys here but if you want AMAZING installs and you near Manchester then give SQplus a call, they do some amazing and some very nutty things. Definitely worth a phone call and a chat, they range from the 30 000 ound install right down to fitting a pair of speakers...
If you looking at doing the front speakers you can get 17cms in there with just the slightest bit of trimming of the trim. And its definitely worth it.
I have Kenwood PSR 71s components installed, sound is brilliant, retail at £180!!! bass junkies have them at 110. Can never get their online...
Cheers for that all, So when we talk performance drops what realistically are we talking about, like slightly slower or like another few seconds on the already snail like 13 secs to sixty.
Are there any fixes for the incorrect speedo? Obviously Renault, VW, etc fit different size wheels...
Another question for you all....
If fit 18s to my 1.2 16v I figure that the speedo will obviously be off by quite a bit ( I reckon about 6mph at 30mph)
That mean when speedo says Im doing 30 Im actually doing 36. Thats bad news!! esp when driving near as many speedos as we have. is there...
Nice easy question for you all.
What size are the standard wheels on a 172, are they any different from the cup?
I want some new wheels for my 1.2 16v, eventually want 18s but until finance allows figured I would just get a set off a kind person wanting to sell standard 172 or cup alloys...
for £500 you can get a Clifford COncept 300 with intellistart (remote start to you and me)
Officially this removes the insurance rating but most places will invoice you separately for the intellistart therefore you get your insurance thatcham 1 certificate.
Just has mine fitted to my 2002...
kenwood psr71s are brilliant, tweeters fit straight in, mids need a little bit of trimming and cutting to get in but the sound is well worth it. Can take a lot of power too.
Maybe consider paying to get them fitted as you need to take the dash off to locate tweeters and crossovers.
Should...
Can anyone tell me how long the clios go in for when the airbag warning light comes in.
Whats the danger of me just pushing together any connectors under the seat I can see.
Renault say there is a failsafe so shoudnt explode in your face, it just wont work if you hit someone up the...
Just had my 2002 clio lowered 60mm springs all round, no tracking adjustment needed, its a llittle harsh on the ride but I have tried and cannot bottom it out for the life of me. May only be extra 2cm but makes one hell of a difference.
Good luck
Has anyone put tints on a silver mark 2, Thinking about getting it done but not sure about the lok, if anyone has a picture would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Unfortunately there is no way for Kenwood head units to use the clio screen, no big loss, the remote adapter is easily available for most head units about £40. Whole dash has to come off for this, For many head units this is in the form of a box with cable to the steering wheel remote stalk and...
just looked at the pictures on the link above of Riks clio,
Do you know where he got the colour coding done and how much he paid?
also where are the clear rear lights from? how much?
cheers
noel
only advice I have had re NOS is it great stuff love the power bu ONLY if you not keeping the car for more than few years, you WILL have major major problems, long term power gains and far cheaper in the long run get a super charger (I love that sound)
Thats my two penneth worth, I kno wmany...
the kenwood components sound fantastic.
Getting the dash of is a major chore!
Even my local audio dealer couldnt do it. The didnt want to risk snappin it!
got renault to do it in the end, then audio dealer refitted it, well worth it though
the standard road angel is GPS only i.e. for Gatsos and fixed speed cameras.
I have tried the Geodesy and these rule, basic version only gps like road angel, however you can get the add on radar detector which means it detects pretty much anything.
Expensive though, £750 ish!!
better...
Just had my Dynamique 1.2 lowered 60mm on PI springs,
WOW! Looks amazing, handling brilliant, slightly rough ride but more than worth it.
Got it done at Rtec, near St. Albans only £80 for springs and £70 for fitting, bargain!!
