gearbox mount (lower mount) was the one that was causing my problems, if the top one's not snapped then it wont really need replacing.
the arbor which attaches the upper gearbox mount could be loose mate, check that whilst you have the engine jacked up it will make your life a hell of alot...
Just a heads up to anyone with suspected engine mount problems,
FIX THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

they just look a little weedy, but dude it's your car. Like you've said before your taste in modifying cars is a little different, but gets the job done in the end!
Have you considered having the standard tips re-welded by an exhaust shop and having the exhaust mounts replaced, as it looks like your exhaust mounts are very worn.
The worn exhaust mounts are probably the reason the exhaust originaly looked so sorry for itself, and if they get any more worn...
