Well you either buy an X85 one and modify it or pay Renault prices.
Those are your choices. The reason that they are hens teeth second hand is that they are designed to deform in an impact as such even minor shunts results in them being scrap.
You might get lucky eventualy so either wait...
730 is the original Clio 172 engine. There are various other F4R's though including the 182 spec F4R which IIRC is a 738 - difference is the upper inlet manifold, breather and thats about it.

Down the passenger side, in a road car you can hide it under the plastic inner sill covers. Secure it using p-clips and via the standard cable guides in the cable trays running down the car.

170A transient though, unless you run the starter motor for a few mins at a time ;-)
I run it with the standard insulation for the most part. I'll heat shrink a couple of bits of shrink onto it where it passes through grommits etc. to make sure it grips the gromit and can't move/break the seal...
Are you sure you're not getting pad material pickup?
Try and a few hard stops (to the point of locking the wheels) from 80mph - 20mph three or four times in a row.

They do seem extremely prone to it! The meg ones seem to be okay but then they are attached to the car at three/four more points than the Clio ones.
Seems the welds on Milteks are very, very brittle.

Bleed them as a starting point! At least then you'll be able to gauge exactly what is going on fluid wise and if you have an airlock in the brake circuit.

Is the brother of a friend blind? Everything is there that's required to get them on the car if you use a few minor bits from your current suspension i.e the front/rear top mounts.
Three hours and I'd have had them on, geo'd and corner weighted.

Depends on the rolling road. ;-)
The rods are strong enough with sub 8K limits for that. Paul has been running 296bhp on them for months now.
With a well done cylinder head, 428's, high comp pistons and a healthy engine I'd expect to see 230bhp'ish. The other 10bhp would come from an extra...
It's a standard thing, don't worry about it.
For what ever reason the seller cannot fully trace the history of the car as such they cannot prove 100% that the mileage is correct - hence the sticker. It came about because of completely straight garages getting sued for selling cars they...
428's are fine. They will make power at 8000RPM but to be honest they are just over the top at 7800RPM IME with a fairly decent flat end to the power curve between 7450'ish and 7700rpm.
That 7800RPM isn't going to be sustained anyway as you aren't going to slam it into the rev limiter at the...
Is 8K the rev limit or the point of peak power i.e. will you be going beyond 8K RPM often?
Unless the cams you'll be using require circa 8000RPM I'd just stick the limit at 7800RPM at which standard rods (and standard valvetrain) are proven and tested.

As said the runner size is fine, the match is very poor.
Just clean them up, get rid of as many casting faults as possible on the entry to the port and get the sizes correct for a good match. That'll give you as good a result as you're going to get out of the standard manifold.

I know mate! Need a head for the new lump and want to make absolutely sure the results from this next batch of testing can't be questioned though.
Spent another 375 quid today on an engine to strip apart and build back up in standard but zero KM spec as well.
Beans on toast and Tesco Value...
Should have got one of those really but its for dev/validation so needs to be as close to brand spanking standard spec as possible........ hence a brand spanking standard spec head LOL
If its photo'd going on the engine and the invoice is present no one can accuse me of getting some cheeky...
Woohoo Renault undercharged me by 62P!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Oh man that's like an entire can of coke or a twix and some crisps! LOL
Many thanks and best regards

£936.22 + VAT from your nearest friendly Renault dealer and it will be on back order!
Mark - long story, it's on Meganesport somewhere, semi-compulsive ;-)

Boggo setup is fine unless you are making 200bhp odd. Which you won't do on the standard inlet manifold. Hence don't worry about it until you change that.

Have you seen the budgets for them! That's why ;) Same reason the X85 and Meg T's run the V6 airbox - it was on the shelf, big enough and cheap enough!
Look at the SuperCopas which were getting on for no budget jobs at the time!
I don't get anything from ITG at all (maybe I should?) but I...
If the only thing you are going to whinge about is the price of the ITG AB65 based kit then please don't. It's low volume complex shape carbon fibre production - it's not going to be bloody cheap is it!!!!
It's also the only airbox that is a properly developed, simulated and tested product and...
