You aren't going to get any major increase in power from changing the airbox. You can lose quite a lot of power if you stick something shite on the end of the throttle body.
The point with the ITG AB series of airboxes is that they are properly developed bits of kit that have had a couple of...
With something like this which is none standard, has had several owners and been arsed about with by the sound of it the only realistic option is to pull it apart - save what is decent and build it again from scratch.
Only that way can you be sure it's all upto spec and well sorted. You could...
Should do - what were they spec'd for? I'm assuming Mk2 chassis 1*2 cup race car?
If you've lowered it to the point where the wheels are in the arches the you may have to get the grinder out - if not you should be okay assuming you aren't running with sufficent suspension travel to bring...
Having seen the amount of CFD that went into the AB series of airboxes then you're going to struggle to luck out and create the same setup with bits of pipe and old Renault airboxes.
However you'll probably get within 80% with a bit of an idea.

It begins again! Phase 2 of the Super-Cup development program.
Over the weekend I've purchased a lump to build the new engine up from and a brand spanking new cylinder head.
Engine spec is going to be essentialy standard with fresh pumps and tri-metal bearings. Modifications are going to...
Wheels are fine, they should bolt up and clear no problem at all.
Oil catch tank is a simple one - breather from standard breather point to catch tank then catch tank (via wire mesh seperator) to atmo via a breather filter.

Been planning your loom adapter too Fred! I reckon you should stick an XAP dash in it though.
Can fook off the standard CANbus then and use a variant with public protocol for dash comms etc.
However if you want to keep standards can do that without too much fuss - need to have a butchers...
Note that's X85 Cup. IIRC Mk2's had a spec cup car ball joint.
X85's run standard bushes as well - to be honest there is such little deflection in them if healthy thats its not really worth changing them until you are way past where a cup car is.

I'm impressed he found a nine pin to 15 pin adaptor though - what's that, old EGA to VGA adaptor? LOL
Seriously though I'm not being harsh to the lad but that's some quality micky taking opportunity that I'm not going to pass up!

Anything can be upgraded! Bushes can be changed for a different material to reduce deflection under load, or even swapped for solid links such as rose joints. Ball joints like wise can be replaced with spherical bearings.
The only real limit is what facilities you have to fabricate them! They...
ROFL Copter cleared for take off and standing by.
I know why Misery-Valver can't talk to his ECU.............. you'll love this.......... but I'm not that cruel so I'll leave it to him to come clean!

I'm betting a short/break in a 12V or 5V line TBH.
Oi Misery Valver - have you scoped the crank sensor signal and is it measuring a full 720 degree cycle with a cam reference/cam sensor or running semi sequential with a 360 reference only.
Kids these days, no stamina (says the well under 30...
Oh FFS - Where are you based?
I'll come and have a look to shut you up - my day rate is £495 but I'll do this one for the peace and quite!
The ECU is good, it was bench tested and passed no probs, the sensor pack and fuel/spark is good as far as we know which only really leaves a wiring...
Cam belt 72K or five years. Aux belt 36K or five years (some will say three years).
Aux belt must be done as a failure tends to go round the back of the crank pulley and push the timing belt off!
Full set on an aircon car is £500 or there abouts at a decent specialist with all tensioners...
I paid 2.5K for 172 Cup with decent history, no accident damage and in good useable nick. I stuck 6000 miles onto it with nothing in the way of servicing etc. before starting the super cup project.
As it stands now I've got a 0KM 200bhp+ spec engine to go in it with a zero KM box and shafts...
Most large commercial wrap operations that do the sky vans etc. for example.
Plenty of them can be tempted for a bit of weekend cash in hand ;-)

Try pricing up producing low volume complex carbon fibre shapes and see how much it costs. £370 isn't bad at all IMHO especialy when you factor in all the nice bits included such as a very high quality silicone elbow and bracket.
There isn't a lot of margin in them lets put it that way ...
Miles don't mean as much as they used to TBH. I've seen a couple of sub 60K cars in a right state and a couple of 100K cars that are still immaculate and make good power.
Agree on 4K for a good one with history and all servicing upto date.

Well on the basis that you can't get liquid gold vinyl..........................
It needs to be a colour thats actualy available as a Vinyl for it to be possible ;-)
