I think its the same as the 172mk1, its at the back of the gearbox near the exhaust manifold. Its protected by a silver heat shield and plugs down into the gearbox.
As regards to the headlamp problem (this happened on the ph2 i breifly owned), chances are the little plastic thing has fallen out that the adjuster server rests on causing the light to drop down low and adjusting it doesnt make any difference. You just need to pop the plastic lug back on which...
Sounds like a abs problem or possibly just the fact the abs is working and your not realising the road is slippy?? I dont think warped discs would cause them to fail. Those that mentioned wheel bearing. If the wheel bearing is really bad it can mess with the alignment of the abs ring and the...
It doesnt work, the car wont lock with the spare key with the other key in the ignition. It only works if you have a mk2ph1/172mk1 where you can use the manual key locks on the passenger and drivers doors to lock it.
Bit confusing this question. So you have a 182 manifold on a 172ph2?? The 172ph1 as standard has a shorter cat and longer centre section. Plus most 172ph1s have 1 lambda sensor. A decat for a 182 will not fit either 172, unless it has a 182 manifold and custom exhaust I think.
Have a look at the clutch cable where it goes on the clutch arm through the gearbox. See if it has some metal weights on the end. As Renault improved the clutch cable by putting weights on it to prevent this kind of thing. MIght be worth ordering one if yours has the older type cable...
Its fairly common, fairly straight forward to repair iirc especially if you go down the 2nd hand route. Normally its not the motors but something plastic that snaps.
It will cause a lot of damage if it reaches your engine, is the water just on the inside of the pipe or is it reaching the filter. If you have something like a ITG filter they are water resistant iirc. I get water going up mine but its never actually reached the airbox.
Only really worth it if you use racing fluid that has to be changed more frequent, the standard stuff is changed roughly every 4 years so the standard nipples do the job fine. Im sure its 7mm.
The top mounts moving with the steering is perfectly normal. Were the top mount bearings replaced?? Are the springs correctly seated. If its coming from the centre check the steering rack mounts arnt loose (lots of movement in the rack with the steering).
Get the lights second hand and they will just bolt into the back of the bumper. As for wiring your car may have the loom in ready depending on year/phase. Youll just need the light switch stalk with the fog light switch on it. Failing that stick a relay in on your sidelights and have a...
I hit a pothole at speed just before xmas and buckled my drivers front wheel. The steering wheel shook badly above 45mph as expected. Ive changed the wheel now and had both fronts re-balanced. Also got the tracking checked which was spot on. Now above 65mph the steering wheel still wobbles...
They are lower than the standard models, but I dont know by how much. As long as the springs are designed for the 172 (ie not a 1.2) then you will notice a decent drop.
Its because they are fairly new and not many 197/225s are being broken up. Also there was a company that made the replica old sport badge before (halfords sold them!!). It also doesnt help that Renault charge about £27-£30 for the new badges.
