Re: Road/Track 172
Hard to say as I've change a lot on the car over the winter and been about 6 months since I've drove it on track, but it did feel very planted through the corners once the track dried up.
Re: Road/Track 172
Haha had to destruction test the engine I built out somehow, only joking he took it easy on the car.
Yesterday showed up how much the car now really needs a diff , as it was pointless in the wet.
Totally for got to take the front plate off as well to aid cooling but the...
The pink and red cups were from over your way , both were going very well on track. Was talking to the owners at the end and the bunk car is entering SLS this year.
Its A048's i have on my Pro race 2's , don't know where i got AD48 from :S Ive got a set of 048's to pick up at knockhill aswell.
The AD06's I got from Ronnie today he has just bought in a load of them ,a lot of the Lotus guys use them apparently more a fast road/track tyre but seem fairly...
Well thats me ready i think, loaded on the trailer and new tyres fitted, I'm going to try the AD06's if its wet if not I have a set of wheels with AD48's loaded swell.
If the weather is anything like it was in Dumfermline today, we could need anything from snow tyres to slicks.
Mine is nearly ready hoping to get some tyres tomorrow , if not i have some old o048's on my Pro Race 2's. Still to sort out a trailer and load up aswell.
Re: Road/Track 172
Another part of the puzzle sorted today with a new tow car , will hopefully be buying my own trailer in a could of months but got use of a nice Brian James until then.

The above pic was taken on the angled floor coming out of the garage.
I've gave the joints a spray when I got home but was thinking of fitting rubber boots and grease packing them, like I did to all the rose joints on my cosworth and Porsche ?
I noticed that the car seemed...
Re: Road/Track 172
I still have rear pads to change and could really do with changing the fluid aswell.
I have some part worn 048's on my pro race 2's and pradas on my 1.2's but might see if I can get some track tyres for the 2118 before the weekend.
The 1 degree was the before readings I had...
Re: Road/Track 172
Thanks a lot it has kind of spiralled from what was meant to be a cheap track toy but it is a lot of fun.
After a short drive today I think it might get even more expensive soon as now really needs a diff, will try it at the weekend with track wheels on but with Yoko Pradas...
Re: Road/Track 172
First track day of the year is booked for this weekend so last push to get the car ready.
Alignment done today after fitting the new hubs, and finally got to try the car out on a bumpy back road :)
Fitted a breather tank
How the car now looks
Also finished the refurb...
Looks nice Fraser is that your car all ready to go ? Ive still got alignment and rear brakes to sort this week.
Do use have any old front brake disks lying about at the unit I could do with one to try a brake moc up on my spare hubs.
Got back today :)
I was going to fire up in the morning to try and buy some tyres for my 2118's ready for next week, but Im going out to Edinburgh with the Mrs now.
Ive never had bother with brake fade at knockhill unless I've stayed out for over 25 min normally boil the power steering before that , 5 track days later and I'm still on the same front discs and pads.
Sounds like it should be a good day just hope the weather is ok , I still need to get alignment done and could really do with some tyres.
Has Ronnie had his shop open at the last few trackdays ?
My car had 16"888's on when i bought it on track it only rubbed lightly on the near side rear, but switched to 15's and did notice a improvement on track plus tyres are a lot cheaper.
I know chip rollers can vary so much thats why i have stuck to the same ones as I can then overly old and new graphs.
I know on my old set up we had the standard injectors at 100% which others have had between 210 and 215 out of on healthy engines, on this set up with the Pico 490 injectors we...
Nope chip still on the ED cams but they seem maxed as die on their ass after 7500 rpm, we upped the limiter to 7800 and the power dropped so took it back to 7500 for safety as still on standard rods.
