Re: Road/Track 172
Had a couple of hours on the car today but didn't achieve much , the cup brake ducts fit badly but I've got a plan so few hours with some fg and they should look ok. Got the roll center hubs fitted then tried an alloy on and noticed the bearing in one of them is shagged so...
Really hope this car lives up to all your expectations, when you get it back. I was in the same position with a escort cosworth years ago ,and once I got the car back after almost a year it lasted 4 months before being broken for parts.
Re: Road/Track 172
Numbers 1 and 2 aswell as its sitting on stands with no hubs fitted justnow :), I want to fit the gauges aswell so we can keep an eye on it when on the rollers.
It was over 210 the last time with the bodies and cams , but I've just had the head ported and went to 12.8:1 comp...
Re: Road/Track 172
Got booked in for the 1st of Feb to drop the car off at Sitech for mapping, which gives me 3 days when i get home to get it ready and have a few jobs to do.
1.Fit roll center hubs
2.Fit oil pressure and temp gauges
3.Fit cup car brake cooling ducts
4.Aerocatch the front...
Those are exhaust ports he is showing the size difference between phase 2 , and phase 1 exhaust ports. The gasket is for a phase 1 which has 30% bigger ports as standard.
Re: JC5-140 Ratios
Do you know what the gearing in them is ment to be like to as in is it fairly close ratio? I can't find the ratios for the 145 anywhere but have found a place listing that box so have emailed them.
Re: JC5-140 Ratios
Sorry Yanoo I have just re read the PM and it is actualy a JC5-145 box not a 140 do you have the ratios for this box.
It has also been fitted with a 4.5 final drive, thats how i got the lower speed when working out the 140 box as with the standard FD it will do 140mph.
I think the pic that Gaz has put up is not very clear, Im sure in his own post it shows it better and i think he has dog legged the end so it transfers load to the floor.

Thats the spec I went with Kelv ,ported head, super tech valves, catcam springs, cams and jenveys.
I actualy lost the o ring groove on my jenvey inlet once it had been matched to the head ports
Hell no not been near ava for about 10 years
Yes simon that owns sitech and does alot of FRS(ive sold my 500bhp one), but he also mapped my clio last year after i fitted my jenveys, cams and omex.
Im hoping to drop it off at the start of feb for mapping again since ive just built a high...
I think with the seals and a couple of screws from the inside you should bet a good seal on the front windows , I had to put serews in from both sides as my doors are a bit more flexy.
Last time I weighed mine it came in at 957kg with half a tank of fuel, that was basic stripped interior with a 6 point cage and 2seats.
Since then I have fitted a full set of polycarbonate windows, carbon bonnet, gutted tailgate and fiberglass doors so now hope to be around 900kg will weigh it...
