Re: Road/Track 172
Its actualy made by Vibe Audio for sound systems, rated to 140 amps so may be border line for cold cranking but if it does trip it only takes a second to reset...
Re: Road/Track 172
Had the car on the rollers at Sitech Racing last night to check the fueling , it goes slightly lean around 3K but from then on it is safe.
Re: Road/Track 172
Its my last weekend at home before going back to work so dont think I will be at knockhill.
Im going along to Sitech Racing tonight to put the car on the rollers to check the fueling.
Ive also finnished the battery install with a switched breaker in the back rather than a...
Re: Road/Track 172
I ported both parts yesterday, there now painted and refitted. Have had the car out tonight but with rain and 888's its just wheel spin. Hope to get the car on the rollers this week to check the fueling as it seems a bit flat lower down.
Re: Road/Track 172
I decided today since the weather was crap that I would have a go at porting/matching the inlet manifolds, I know it wont give a big gain but its free.
What I found when i removed the manifold is a bit strange, as it looks like the head has been ported and had new valves...
Re: Road/Track 172
Whats on next week ? Im up there tomorrow morning to do the Ferrari experiance so was going to ask about track days. If I stays dry I might see about taking the clio back up in the afternoon for a few laps.
Re: Road/Track 172
I got the thread bar from my local B&Q and used a spare seat brace from my go kart to go over the battery. The rest of the parts I got from Tweeks but but Merlin motorsport also sells all you need.
Im just waiting on a inline breaker to fit at the back rather than running a...
Re: Road/Track 172
Dave I bolted the box down using 4 M6 bolts with large penny washers either side, then used M8 thread bar and a top brace to hold the battery in place. It may be a bit over kill but I dont fancy a battery to the back of the head should the worst happen.
Re: Road/Track 172
Im from Leven , the car was owned /built by a guy from Dumfermline then sold to someone from Edinburgh.
Uprated top mounts and polished/matched inlets are on my shopping list so keeping an eye out in the forsale section.
I bought this last week to hopefully use on some track days and have a bit of fun in, the gearbox mount let go on the first day so have just got that fixed and carried out my first mod on it moving the battery to the back.
Plans are to hopefully keep it low budget fun , but Ive never been good...
Ive recently bought a track/road spec 172 cup, and managed to brake it within 6 hours:(. Just a gearbox mount so should be sorted this week, and gives me a good excuse to move the battery to the boot to help straighten out the filter run.
