I was driving into Epsom the other day (Via Ashtead Village) and just as I got out the other side of the village, right on the bend, there were 3 sliver clios, one behind the other. As I saw them the front one flashed me, so I flashed back. As I came level I saw he had a 1.2, the guy behind had...
Very very nice. I also agree with some others, looks better without the tints, and the new wheels are really nice too, much better than the black ones and the first ones. ;) :D
Erm, I didn't think the US even knew what a Clio was. They don't have Renaults in the US do they? I know they have BMW's (including the Mini), VW's and Mercs. Renaults?? Hmmm, I don't think so! I certainly didn't see any whilst I was there anyway.
There was an article in 'Auto express' last year that said Renault were considering a Clio Convertible to be put into production by the end of this year. I have not seen any articles since about this so I am not sure if Renault are actually going to do this or not.
I will get Hubby to search...
You have top have seperate insurance for the other car. You may find you can add your new car to your existing policy, but you will not be able to use any no claims you have. The car will be insured without any no claims bonuses.
I had similar damage done to my old 1.4 RT Alize. Had to have new floor panel, new tailgate and new rear bumper, plus the respray. Total cost £1200. So I reckon with the rear light damage and rear wing you're looking at around 2-3k MAX! Should not be a write off, besides, as it wasn't your fault...
I haven't got winter wheels, although I could use the original 15" alloys, but like Alex says, I don't see the point in it as long as you keep your wheels clean.
What I hate about Renault dealers is when they tell you they will have to do a diagnostic check. This usually costs £80+. I took mine in to have the hazard light switch replaced. They said they would have to do a diagnostic on it. I told them there was no way I was going to pay £80+ for a darn...
If I were to paint my calipers (which I won't) I would probably paint them as near to the same colour as my car as possible, but that's just my opinion. I still stick with the gunmetal wheels for yours though, I'm not a lover of black wheels.
If it has a Renault alarm the flashing red light should be in the middle of the dash above the stereo. I have got a blue lcd light that is now in it's place. I am not an alarm expert so I don't know if all aftermarket alarms have lcd flashing lights, but there should be sensors on the upper...
Well it very much depends on how much you want to spend. I went and got a Viper 480XP, which is a pretty serious alarm and cost me £500 (including anti tilt sensor). You could probably get a pretty decent alarm with just sensors for about £200. Maybe you should take a trip to Halfords to see...
Mine wasn't from a Reanult dealer either. As said, if it's UK spec, you have nothing to worry about. If you are really worried about it not having an alarm just get one fitted as soon as you can. That's what I did.
