Come on then, lets see em,
Engine bays with ITB's only! Clio's of course!
will be doing this in april/may to my 172.
Want to see what ive got in store.
thats my exact dilema! Ive been eying up impreza p1's for a while now.
yeah there a nice car but id have to spend near 10k on a good one. running costs/insurance/tax is all going to mount up.
A tuned clio will be just as much fun and still relatively cheap. its just gettin it up to the spec...
John who i spoke to today said his has had a problem with crank sensor and a split fuel line throughout the 5 yrs of having bodies. which i thought was damn impressive.
i was impressed today, it was very very wet so i was a bit careful and the roads didnt allow too much speed but what i did do i was happy with.
compared to the price of a turbo conversion its the best bang for buck your gonna get!
Just a quick thanks to Andy and Danny @ GDI for sorting me out with a blast in a bodied clio. Thanks for John for lettin me take her out for a spin!
Impressed with it indeed. not as loud as i thought it would be, i have heard bodied saxo/106's before so was expecting it to be louder but im...
gutted!!! sorry i couldnt make it today, am on late shift this week!
next time you have one available for 5mins then drop me a call and i'll pop over.
P.s. still got handbrake cables to return to you guys too!
anyone doubting a small car like this with "only" 290 bhp should really reconsider their comments. Most of you wont even have driven a car like that with near 300bhp!
its a totally different league of quick!
id be running 100% std apart from a cat back exhaust system, so std cams, std cylinder head, std pistons.
would this give a more noticeable drive over just cams. i just dont think cams will give me the power i really want. the engine is really lacking for me at the moment. although its healthy...
Hi all.
172, ph2 52reg
Im now getting a little closer to the time when i can start up a new project for the car. I was thinking bodies but wanted some opinions/views on running them with a std engine (other than cat back exhaust).
do people have this setup, what is it like? how does it...
can get a vts for thsat money easily.
i sold my 52 plate vtr for £2600 nearly 3 years ago now! sounds like u paid a bit much! none the less good cars.
ive had 4 saxo's up to the 172. loved em all. started off with a 1.1i then onto a vtr, then a vts with a supercharger, then another...
If you guys wanted to save money then you can run these without an intercooler. The pipework would be very simple if doing that. that would knock a couple of hundred quid of the price.
but of course the gains would be severly compromised.
There are two suppliers in the UK, three now if OMEX do them
TTS - silverstone based (where i got my second one from)
GMC - Scotland (where i got my first one from) Guy called john! Tuning guru!
Omex - not sure where they are!
Rotrex prices have just gone up.
your lookin at, for the latest spec chargers, c30/64,74,84,94 over £1400 alone. Cant think if that includes the oil cooler youl need. you get all the oil lines and £60 a litre traction fluid though!
So the kit that GDI supply will defo 100% be more than...
not keen really, but ive neevr really cared for the oz f1's too much.
17's look too big for the clio. 16's are spot on for looks and keep handling as normal.
each to their own of course. if you like them then who cares what anyone else thinks.
