This is just a guess, but you might need an extra supressor/filter-choke in line somewhere?
IIRC, the 'squealing' you hear (that 'follows' the throttle) is interference from the cars' electrical system?
If so, fitting a supressor should help.....?
I have the Renault Sport "Clio" screen-saver, from the French Renault Sport website - not sure if you can get it any more as they changed the site in preparation for the 'new' Mark 3 one, I think?
Anyway, anyone who wants a copy, 'tis here:

There were apparently two versions of the PE2 - one with a Green Spot one the sidewall and one with a Red Spot.
It's the Red Spot ones that have the stiffened sidewall, these are the standard fitment on the 182 and Cup.
Also, the only PE2 you can be now from a Tyre Dealer (so my firendly local...
With your 182 you should definitely have an Alarm Manual for the Cobra (Renault-branded) alarm, and also a small certificate showing when the alarm was installed (and tested, in my case).
This should have come with the other paperwork in the grey pouch supplied with your car - if you don't have...
I must admit when I went to my local Renault dealer hunting for a 182, the Salesman couldn't have been more helpful - he genuinely knew about the car, it's performance and was honest enough to comment on the 'rattles' and build quality!
As for a test drive, he himself had a blue 182 with Cup...
Hi Omar -
Glad you're enjoying the 350 - I've had a 300D for ages and absolutely love it!
Just a couple of additions to those posted above; don't worry about your memory cards - always try and buy the fastest ones you can. Whilst the 350 has a larger buffer than my 300, the buffer (on both...

Don't let the doom-sayers put you off!
If you want the black one, get the black one!
As I mentioned above, it's the cack weather in this country that makes *every* car dirty (not just the black ones) especially in the Winter.
My 182 lives outdoors (as I don't have a garage) and it...
I have a black 182, and believe me, when it's clean, it's gorgeous - the problem is, in this country, with its wonderful weather, is keeping it clean!
If you're prepared to hand wash your car, and don't take it through car washes, keep it polished and invest the time in keeping it spotless...
Spent three hours cleaning and polishing the 182 on Sunday (in a rare gap in the rain) after a 350 mile round trip to Swindon on Friday/Saturday.
It's rained ever since in Nottingham, and the poor thing's 'ditched' again :-/
...still, it's worth it when it's clean!
Likes?
Easy - Performance, the "5,000 rpm kick", handling (superb), looks, and the overall 'grin' factor;
Dislikes?
hmmm - not many - the build quality isn't up to VW or Honda, but hey, neither is the price.....
Overall, the 182 (whichever variant) is the best Hot Hatch you can buy...
Hmm...
My quote with DL was £476 - and my 182 is parked on the street (!) in Nottingham?
(36, 5+yr NCD, clean license, GF who is 29 is a named driver).
Funnily enough, I asked the same question of the Renault Dealer when buying my 182.
if you are involved in a collision that either trips one (or more) of the airbags, or that is above a certain (?) speed, or that cuts out the engine (after a collision) the 'magic' computer will apparently...
I'll admit I'm with Liam182 on this - as far as I'm concerned, my 182 was supplied to me as factory-spec, but my Renault dealer.
If an insurer would like to argue that case, then I'd be happy to do so - most of them wouldn't know a Cup Pack from an Egg Cup anyway!
I'd agree with Loony, having previously owned a 205Gti (in the dim and distant past) and currently a 182, the back end of the 205 was inclined to get a little loose on occasion...
But what fun! the 205 was so light, you could really throw it around, and it just made you smile when you pushed...
Hi andy,
I replied to your other thread, as I'm (currently) with Direct Line -
I did my original "quote" online, then phoned them up afterwards to do the deal (as I wanted to check the situation with the Cup Packs). It seems to be depending on who you speak to at the Insurers, as to what...
In my case, the guy at direct line stated that they insured the vehicle based on the spec as it was delivered from the factory, so that the Cup Packs didn't count as an aftermarket modification (like say changing the wheels or the exhaust).
As they didn't class them as a 'mod' I queried this...
It depends on the Insurance Company - some are more knowledgable than others with regards to the spec' of vehicles?
FWIW, I insured my 182 (full-fat, with both Cup Packs) with Direct Line, and asked them about this - their answer went along the lines that as the Cup Packs were a factory fit...
As far as I remember, you can talk to RFS about this - 0845 300 3179.
The "payment protection" is underwritten by an insurer on behalf of RFS, but all queries should go to RFS first?
HTH!
There were a couple of Blue 182's with stripes and stickers on them that RUK used for Press duties (I recall seeing one once!)
Also, if you remember the episode of "Top Gear" where they review the 182 (from the end of last year, I think?) the 182 that the Stig 'canes round the test-traffic...
I think the best thing I can say about my 182 is that whenever I drive it, once I get the hell out of the traffic and on to the open road, it manages to make me grin like the Cheshire Cat whenever I hammer the "go" pedal!
The 182 is the most enjoyable car I've had in years, it may have a few...
Must admit, this nearly happened to me when picked up my 182 in July - wasn't from Arnold Clark though.
The Dealer had about a half dozen pre-reg 182, of which I bought one. When I went and signed up and handed over the deposit, I picked the (last remaining) black one, as they had at that...
IIRC, the guy at the Dealer mumbled something about having to "re-program" something to adjust the sensitivity.
Don't know how true this is - there's folks about here who may know more than I about such matters - but I guess any competant car-electrical company should be able to do it?
Hi Liam,
I've not had a problem the same as yours, but I had the issue with the alarm not setting itself correctly (basically, when you hit the fob, it emits 3 or 4 high pitched beeps when it locks the doors) but when talking to the Technician at the Dealership, he did mention that the Alarm...
Hi mate,
According to the documentation I have with my 182 (manufactured early 05) the model is a "Renault Premier Alarm 8268/B"
If you need this for insurance, I just quoted this model to my insurer (Direct Line) and they knew what it was?
HTH!
Calm down? Never!
Ive had my 182 for six weeks now, and I think I may require surgery to remove the grin from my face!
(Seriously, I havent had this much fun in a car since my old Pug 205 GTi, many years ago?)
Ive noticed that once I ran him up to 1,500 miles, the engine seems to have...
Hi - I hope this will help:
According to my local, friendly Michelin Dealer, the correct tyres for the Renault Sport 182 are:
Cup Suspension (this includes both "Cup" variant and the 182 with the Cup Suspension as an option:
205/45 R16 83v Exalto2 with a red dot/stripe (this is the...
