Use a screwdriver or small punch & hammer to knock it round (undo it) or at least start it off. Is that what you meant by using a punch or just hitting it end on in an attempt to shock it free?
Have you tried changing the track rod ends? Or checked them for play anyway....
Could be an engine mount as you say, causing the manifold to knock on something, but thats normally under hard accelertation/deceleration rather than bumps in the road.
How old are your dampers (@jesus & rich) ?
Hmmmmm, they definately arent "bling" enough for silver wheels, as said they look almost matt silver. You could try returning with them and say you wanted silver, not grey but as you said it was a cash in hand job, worth a try.

195 50 15s are the "norm" for the profile, but 205s are fine also!
rainsports are ok for a normal use road tyre but the sidewalls are soft as s**t! I replaced my rear R1Rs as a temporary measure and it felt very jelly like on the rear lol
A couple from a little drive out at the weekend :) Personally I think Sportlines give a damn good "stance" from the side pic :)
