Depends how much you want it and are willing to wait & then how much he wants to sell. £6k is too much but £4,500 would be a bargain for you! If you really like it be upfront and tell him the info I have told you and that you think £5,500 is fair, then if he says no have the balls to walk away.

The "what car" book price is £5,145 for a 2004 plate 1.2 16v Dynamique, having done 20,000 miles. 05 is unlisted in used and new (obviously falls in between the 2) I would offer him £5,500 and walk if no good.
