mae sure you get the waterpump changed, its not optional!
possible you overfilled it? the MAX marker isn't as high up as you think (you can't actually see the max line on the tank with it fitted to the car! Renault - another great idea!
just buy a patern part one from GSF etc (KYB, LESJFORS, MONROE etc) as a temporary solution if you get stuck, less than 30quid new, it won't fail the MOT because its not a cup spring ;)

Gearbox is done, Zoltan is collecting it tomorrow! The diff needed loads of shimming apparently, the stock diffs are machined perfectly apparently, the quaife however was and i'll quote...
does the arm move freely? it if does and the brakes still don't work then i'd suggest new rear pads and bleeding the system, they should work a bit (not very well)
the ABS sensor won't come out (very unlikley anyway) without damage
plus you'll have to replace the wheel bearing too
in short, just paint them as they are
