Personally, I'm not a Vauxhall fan (Owned a rotten stinker of a Corsa GSi and a lovely VX220T) but I detest all Astras, prior to the Mk5. The only problems IMO with the latest iteration top-end Astras are the shockingly designed interior, precipitous depreciation and the woeful Vx network...
My understanding is that you can buy a second-hand key, swap out the 'used' key blade for a new one and re-code it to your car's ECU quite simply. Even with only one 'master' key.
I'm currently investigating this route, and will feedback in due course...

The MOT testing station I was at mentioned that there is play in my top mounts, but I've not noticed any play/ adverse handling characteristics?!? Also, the mounts look like they'rwe in good shape?

My 172 with coilies and uprated engine mounts doesn't rattle much, just a glovebox door that makes a sound like a cricket at idle!
I found a few bamboo canes jubilee-clipped together worked wonders!!
Waaaaaay better than carbon or aluminium $hite made by people with years of experience with large R&D budgets...
