Re: Road/Track 172
The 197 cams were £75 compared to £500 for normal uprated cams, might not get the same gains but im not chasing big bhp.
Its one of the knockhill nights open pit for 2 hours limited to 40 spaces sure it was £60 , Its running reverse so not ideal for a first time out but its...
Re: Road/Track 172
I have also now bought some Peco 430 cc injectors off the guy selling the bodies so that is another thing sorted, just ARP bolts to sort . What revs are the standard valves safe to ? justnow the car has a 7K limiter but I was thinking 7.5K with the rod bolts done.
Re: Road/Track 172
Had a little shopping spree today :D
Jenvey ITB
197 cams
Inlet horn spacers (20mm as horns are 60mm)
ITG filter
I also have my first track night booked for next Thursday .
Will see how the car goes as it is justnow, then get the uprated engine mounts, camber...
Would it not be possible to fit the oil cooler where Bomber has put his, then mount the oil tank in the wheel arch where the original carbon canister was.
By mounting it low with a hole cut so the fill was sticking into the engine bay it would keep the tank level with the charger, give air flow...
Re: Road/Track 172
Thanks but I cant take credit for the build as Ive only done a few changes since I got it, I wouldnt mind finding out who originaly did the work on the car as there is a few parts with no records.
One of my friends has just bought a 106gti on bodies last night so looks like...
Looks a nice install and could be a cheap conversion if it does make power.
Stupid question but have you ran the car up with the filters removed to see if there causing a restriction?
Not heard anything about them for years they use to be big into supercharged saxos when they were fairly new , also did a couple of quick AX's that went to Knockhill.
I know Simon from Sitech racing has done alot of mapping on OMEX, mainly ford stuff but he does do any make. He has a civic in justnow for mapping on bodies , and is now based in Rosyth. Thats who I was goign to use if I got them as known him for years and half an hour along the road for me...
Looks like a proper build with some very nice bits going onto it, who is going to be doing your mapping ? Im gutted I missed out on the throttle bodies but you snooze you loose .
Real sad news Karl with the white car must be gutted, its just had a lot of work done to it and must of been one of the best Saffs on the road.
Sounds like the guy in the silver car was showing off and never seen the cars infront brake, and going buy the damage must of got the 1 and 5 mixed up...
Looks like it pulls stronly with very little drop of in power between shifts .
What spec is Lee's car now as it looked quick in the last video you posted aswell.
Re: Road/Track 172
Anyway back to the track clio :p
Plans are fit the poly bush kit to the dogbone mount, then lookout for uprated engine mounts and top mounts.
If the buyer does not take LewisTaylors throttle boddies I may well end up with them, giving the bonus of more power and the switch...
Re: Road/Track 172
The blue escort was a really nice car with a very useable 450bhp engine. The white cossie was built for about 550 bhp but was closer to 500, before I broke it.
Re: Road/Track 172
Could a mod move this into the project section please.
It will more than likely go through a good few changes if my previous cars are anything to go buy.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Never had a fan from McGill but all the other parts Ive had from them have been good quality.
Stunning build and cant wait to see it at Knockhill.
On a side note what track days/nights are best at knockhill , Im really needing to get booked up on a few.
