It seems to work off of your current fuel consumption, when you get down to a small amount, around a gallon or so, the amount of miles left could fluctate massivly if you decided to put your foot down, so when the aount of fuel hits a predetermined low cutoff point, it stops displaying, and...

My current nightmare is a Mitel system in conjunction with external SIP trunk calls where they only have trunks into their main site and want to hand off SIP calls to VPN's.
I can get it to work, but getting it to work securely is the problem. I dislike putting rules that involve things like...
I haven't actually dealt with coice ov VoIP servers or SIP providers, but having had to troubleshoot VoIP and SIP connectivity on a firewall level I can agree with everyone who says don't rely on it.
So often we have customers who come to us for support where their their VoIP connectivity...
For me it's sometimes a case of all 3, some swearing, having to reload the file again because i forgot to hit esc 97 times before doing anything and now realise that I have :wq! no right in the middle of what i was editing :(
Thing is, I used to use Wordstar back in the day and I was pretty...
Technically it's actually 4GB, but thats in total. This includes memory space on any adaptor cards, like your video card for instance.
But, yeah, you need 64bit OS for it to "see" all of it.
While I'll be the first to pipe up and say that Macs are overpriced crap, I've seen pics like that before and they usually involve someone having gone for dual 40 inch studio monitors or some stupid s**t like that. So the Mac it's self probably only cost 7 or 8k...
How long since you replaceed the batteries?
They have a finite life, and start to swell when getting old. I've had UPS's that I've had to throw away because I couldn't get the batteries out because they had swelled so badly.
What do you mean by custom firmware updates?
Why would you do that? I'd much rather have the official firmware update that someone hasn't inserted a back door into :-)
Just set yourself a proxy up at home.
Or even better, a SSH server and a proxy, so you can tunnel all of your traffic down an encrypted tunnel.
It all depends on how sneaky your admins are. I setup networks to stop people getting out, so I know most of the tricks.
Encrypted tunnels are...
So very true. I've pretty much always been an anti-Apple person as I don't see the point in paying 20% extra for something just because it's got an Apple logo on it (especially as Belkin manfufacture (or at least used to) most of their non-Mac devices) when there's stuff that works way better...
Cool. Hotmail used to be pop3 enabled back in the day before Microsoft bought it up.
Once they removed the ability for Outlook Express to link directly in I stopped using the damn thing.
He'll also be able to re-download any Xbox arcade games he's purchased.
You should be able to tranfser save games accros with a memory stick or similar, IIRC there's an option in the dashboard somewhere to move save games etc to an external storage device.
You have to start right at the bottom.
For me it was a temporary 6 week summer contract with the local college to help install their new PC's. They got something like 150 new PC's in and they all needed setting up from scratch (this is back in the day of Windows 3.11 and Novel servers). That...
Pretty much the same here. Handful of GCSE's an A Level. 2 years of a failed degree in engineering of which I never actually attended more than 4 lectures the 2nd year. (Drugs and clubbing FTW :D)
Everything is experience based (I've had computers int he house since the age of about 7 or 8)...
Copy down these details. (you will need to reset them at work)
remove the details from this window.
Click OK
Click OK
Then you should be able to browse using IE at home.
To make IE work at work, just put the details back.
To make firefox work at work, go Tools - Options - Advanced - Network...
Christ, I wish the monkies who apply for our first line support jobs knew this "little".
We're a firewall support company, and the only people we generally get for our first line stuff are desktop support guys with little or no network knowledge. Most of them don't even know about 3 way...
I was just taking a look at Das Keyboard, I quite like the sound of that one. One of my favourite keyboard ever was an old school Dell clicky key keyboard. Problem was it weighed about 2 1/2 tons, but you could threaten to beat users to death with it. :D
from the Das Keyboard FAQ:
12 keys...
NEVER! :D I always buy the best keyboard and mouse combination I can afford, if you think about it, these are the bits you'll be using all of the time, better to pay twice the money now, rather than replacing them every 6 months.
I have the Microsoft Reclusa keyboard and the Habu mouse.
Both decent.
The keyboard is solid as a rock andd has a nice blue glow under the keys along with multimedia controls.
The Habu mouse is actually a Razer mouse repackaged in MS packaging. 5 button, glows blue, 2000dpi, so great for gaming.
