    Civic type ’R’ eater!

There is very little perfomance wise with the CTR compared to the 172/182s. Lets face it they are pretty big cars especially compared to a Clio. Glad you gave some a whipping though!! :D

    Number plates

I had a right job getting my old plates off the dealer had used 6 sticky strips per plate. Ended up stood there with a hair dryer which softened them enought to peel them off. You can then just roll off the excess with your finger. The Halfords sticky strip are pretty good, just use three per...

    CRAWLEY CRUISE

Is should be pretty good as it tends to draw in cars from other cruise areas. Also because its legal the police are there automatically which eliminates the dirty little chav pikeys!!!

    CRAWLEY CRUISE

Just to let anyone who is interested know there is a legal cruise in Crawley on Saturday 7th May. For more info have a look here - http://www.ccw-messageboard.co.ukwww.ccw-messageboard.co.uk The last meet pulled in about 900 cars and a five page write up in Max Power. Also all the...

has anyone got the carbon k-tec splitter

I was thinking of getting one of these or a Renault cup one for my 172. Are they easily fitted???

    Central locking thought!!

I have had to do exactly that on my old clio when the key packed up but Im saying if its the central locking that stops working you cannot manually lock or unlock the boot hatch or the drivers door. Therefore it would left vulnerable!!!
  7. Alex_225

    Central locking thought!!

Youd be ok getting in but youd be f*cked locking the car up over night!! And lets face it the RS Clios turn heads so you know some little pikey would be tempted. !!!

    Central locking thought!!

Since there is no lock on the boot and drivers door, I was thinking that if your central locking packed in is there any way you could manually lock these??? Just thinking about this and if you didnt have a spare remote key or the button in the car wasnt working youd be screwed!?!?

    Motability and you

Thats is so true mate!! Heard some good news today though. My mum spoke to Motability who explained that it was the work and pensions people who took so long in advising them of my dads situation. They said as he as classed as terminally ill due to his MS being on going they wouldnt ever...

    Motability and you

To be honest im not too worried, the joke is that they sent the letter to my dad who is partially sited and cannot speak that clearly. Would almost be worth a laugh them taking him to court, certainly would make a mockery of them. Its so annying that people like us get picked out when there...

    Motability and you

It wont be taken lying down and as it may turn out they should have been entitled to motability the whole time he has been in the nursing home so looks like they may be forced to back pay my folks and provide them with moatability again. Ill keep you posted mate. With your car it sounds best...

    Motability and you

Strange how someone has posted about motability when my parents are having a great deal of trouble with them. My dad has MS and ended up in hospital which in turn meant he had to go into a nursing home. They were completely honest with Motability who informed them that they are entitled to...

    God damn horse sh*t!

Well Mandy I hope I never have to claim but at least that sets it straight. Just got to pin the tax disk on the donkey next haha. Me first :p

    God damn horse sh*t!

If the horsers are insured does that mean that is they get frisky and kick a car their insurance would pay for the damage??? I can imagine them causing all sorts of fuss and trying to blame the driver for it. Lets face it when you have to overtake something and drive on the wrong side of...

mg zr (total class!!)or clio 172

I would have to agree with this, youre not gonna sell it for any reasonable ammount at the moment. Best of driving it for a good few years and get the most out of it.

    God damn horse sh*t!

I really dont thinkg horses should be on the road. I drive near Epsom downs and they are a right pain. They ride side by side on a narrow road and you cant drive passed then fast as they get scared. They are dangerous coz you cant overtake them safely. Not taxed or insured and they make...

    172 Mk2 - Lumpy when cold

Ive always found the Clio twitchy when they are not warmed up. I drove a 1.4 Alize and that was really hard to drive smoothly. Took 15,000 miles for it to drive as Id expect. Im expecting my 172 to loosen up when it gets there as well.

Who else has one of these

That is a really good idea. Shame that Ive resigned my boot to a life of impracticality with a ICE. Definately a good idea if you need to use you Clio more practically though.

    I don’t understand...

Ive never really noticed but now youve mentioned it I will and it will annoy me lol! Maye its because the wheels on those other models are a bit bigger and fill the arches more, the ST170.Civic Tyore-R all have 17" wheels. Since I put the 17s on my 172 it doesnt look high.....well maybe a...

    Shocking 182 service

I feel sorry for the customer service staff as they are very pleasant and as helpful as possible at my local dealer. They must put up with some sh*t considering they mechanics are so careless. It took two attemps for them to fix my squeaky seat and its still the same. Also damager 4 panels...

    the great waving debate

I guess this depends, I mean I rarely see another RS and being a really car lover I would aknowledge another car like mine as its not a common site. There are still a lot of RS drivers who have bought their car because they can rather than because they are a fan of Clios/Renault. They are the...

    Shocking 182 service

Its a shame you cant take your car to a dealer with the peace of mind that they will care for it as much as you do. I waited three months for Renault to fix the damage they did to my car but they ended up refunding my service so £200 back in my pocket. Id rather they didnt f**k cars up...

Clio II Flip Green/Blue Dash Inserts

I reckon thats a pretty neat little touch mate!! Goes with the Billabong interior and I personally always find flip paint intriguing to look at. Nice one!!

    warrenty on imports

Mine was an import but Renault honoured the standard 3 year warranty they would give on any new car. When I had a problem I just took it to the local dealer and they had no questions. Hope that helps.

    supergard 3year guarantee

I had a similar treatment on mine which was thrown in for free, called Silver Seal. Not a Renault treatment though, I wouldnt trust them to apply anything on my paintwork lol. I was never warned not to wax it though just given a tiny bottle of Silver Seal car shampoo. Have to say Ive probably...

    ICE and Interior Pics

I actually have two Pioneer TSE6995 6x9s in the parcel shelf but its an Autoacoustics Stealth shelf. Sounds great and as they are running about 150w RMS each I have just faded the standard speakers down so they dont blow. At least then I can just take out the ICE in the boot and swap the...

    ICE and Interior Pics

It was a Pioneer 8400MP from what I recall, was a really good unit just not as reliable purely due to the mechanics. Liking that other install, another tidy one!! Also as mentioned with the variable bass control wired up to the front, very handy!

    ICE and Interior Pics

Spammy the headunit is pretty good although I personally think that some of the settings are overcomplicated. Does have some nice features and the colour OEL is good. Love youre boot though mate!!! I had this unit for a couple of years but it stopped working properly. Every time the face...
