What PaulEDS says regarding keeping the car standard - as soon as you remove the interior you're facing significant costs to be competitive in class in Sprints and Hillclimbs. You won't hit your budget and you'll probably have reliability issues as well. Bear in mind that even the roadgoing...
Tyres are now wearing WAY better than previously with 0mm toe out. I normally lose 2mm at Kemble but went through less than 1mm last Sunday in dry conditions. TBH tyre wear isn't much of an issue, being competitive is a far greater priority.
A big vote for proper suspension set up - before last Friday I was running standard camber and toe front and rear. Clio 172, Eibach springs, cup shocks.
K-Tec set the car up for me last week and yesterday I tested it at the latest round of the National Autosolo Championship at Kemble near...
I was really surprised with the RE050. A pair came with my 172 and the previous owner rated them, similar results to the PS3. I used them on the front for my first Autosolo in the car at a very wet Smeatharpe and won the event overall! They worked well in the wet. I then used them at an Autosolo...
Round 4 of the National BTRDA Autosolo Championship yesterday at Kemble, courtesy of Bath Motor Club. Some suspension set up changes at K-Tec and the car was transformed - much better turn in, the "wooliness" has gone and I can get on the power earlier. 8th overall and first in class, just kit...
How do they identify a modified spring? Is the ride height measured compared to standard? There must be some variance allowed. As long as you're not obviously low, surely replacement springs can be fitted due to wear/breakage and springs do sag over time lowering the ride height.
EXACTLY what I was going to write - for the same money as T1Rs, go RainSports, far superior tyres.
Going further, I do 12 Car rallies during the Winter (typically 45-50 mile navigational events on small country roads, timed at an average of 30mph). When it's relatively dry and not many rotting...
No rear ARB as yet. An area to discuss with K-Tec next week when we go through the suspension set up. I really want to focus on turn in and braking - I'm getting too much understaeer and am scrubbing the edges of front tyres, plus I was having trouble braking on the Sprint due to weight transfer...
The last sprint at Hullavington today - it's being sold to be built on. Shame, it's a great venue.
I was in the slightly modified standard class due to my poly bushes and air box. I didn't realise that "standard" as defined in the Blue Book means that you can run throttle bodies and other quick...
A used K-Tec Racing carbon rear strut brace for Clio 172/182. In good condition with a few marks.
When new were sold at £104.58 inc VAT so grab a bargain.

Round 4 of the BTRDA Autosolo Championship at Ross on Wye yesterday. I used some old Exalto tyres, big mistake, they had gone hard so I had a LOT of understeer as rubber fell off the tyres. I had to fit some very old S.Drive tyres (which I'd originally taken to create less rear end grip). They...
Round three of the National BTRDA Autosolo Championship yesterday at Chepstow Race Course, run by Bristol Motor Club. Tried some 15" wheels and the car felt so much better. They're clearly much lighter than the 16" and a lot cheaper to replace the tyres as well.
Second overall after the first...
Just found this. Again, I thought I was suffering from French electrics, but two flicks, a beep, and the lights are coming on automatically again on my 172. Great thanks for posting the solution.
So new power steering pump, offside driveshaft and a pair of handbrake cables. Today I headed off to Kemble airfield near Cirencester for round 2 of the BTRDA Autosolo Championship, my favourite Autosolo venue as it has a mixture of surfaces and mud normally appears.
It was amazing how the grip...
After the suspension mount problem I headed off to Demon Tweeks at Wrexham for round one of the BTRDA Autosolo Championship. The car park was small, I've never competed on such a tight Autosolo. I had to resort to the handbrake to get round some of the turns. My handbrake isn't good so I was...
There looks like a picture in this thread of side mounts attached to sliders to an OMP base:
http://www.cliosport.net/threads/omp-bases.788398/
Looking at various threads, there are loads of examples of side mount seats being attached to sliders.
The side mounts could bolt to sliders. I have a sliding Sparco bucket in my Autosolo Micra so my daughter and I can both drive it, she has short legs. When locked in place with the standard mechanism in any position, the seat is solid so there's been no problem at scrutineering for Autosolos...
I've run rally cars with winged seats firmly fitted to the floor or welded in seat rails for years. No MOT issues, not even questions asked.
One car was log booked for stage rallying and I also used it on Endurance Road Rallies. While the wings undoubtedly can stop your head moving around in an...
It looks like I'm going to have to go through every connection, it will probably be really easy to fix when I find the problem. Any indication of where to start appreciated. I was hoping that there would be a common problem area, such as the wiring under the passenger seat for the air bag light...
And the SERV/Airbag warning light was due to the connection under the passenger seat, as you all said, thanks.
Now to discover why the door open warning light is on all the time, but I haven't a clue where to start. Thoughts appreciated.
Back home now. A good sleep in the recovery truck, I did have a 4am start after all.
Could this happen again? When I acquired the car the PS reservoir cap had fluid on the outside and the level was low. I topped it up, cleaned the outside of the cap but there was still PS fluid appearing on the...
Those connections were under the driver's seat, I haven't looked under the passenger seat as yet.
But more fundamental problems anyway - I'm typing this in Demon Tweeks after the power steering pump failed and blew oil everywhere. I'm assuming the pump as the pulley looks to be wobbling from...
