Re: Apple Mac book.....
^^as above get the new one. Once you've got the student discount will work out about the same. Im a mac user, got mine about 6 months ago and the change from windows to mac is the best change. Once you go mac you never go back.
Have a look at these lil helpers...
Thats really expensive. I look out my insurance today:
- 18 year old male
- Im the policy holder
- 1.2 Mk3 clio
- 1 year NCB
- mum and dad on policy
- All mods declared
£870 fully comp :)
That was by going on confused.com did it all on there then got a phone call from admiral about half hour...
Just a quick one looking at getting this for my gf as a lil gift.
Will it work on windows 7?

- Paintbrush (just like paint on windows)
- Alarm Clock
- Stickies (lil post-it notes on your desktop)
- MacJanitor (cleans your mac everyday of stuff you dont need)
- Vuze (download torrent)
- VLC Player (plays pretty much any type of video format)
- Volumizer (puts your HD's in the dock...
Just wondering whats the best applications people are using on their macs. Found a fair few free bits. Feel like i need some more :)
Plex
Vuze
Alarm Clock
McJanitor
VLC
Miro
Microsoft office

Depends what your going to be using it for. If your just going to be using it for everyday stuff internet., mail, itunes etc... Macbook will be fine easily
Yeah i use torrents all the time. I use "vuse" best one out there. But if its plugged in to your TV check out plex best software im using on my mac plus its free. Also if you look around you can get MS office on your mac that works fine as a torrent :)
Yeah get a mac mini thats what i've got. PLug in a external hardrive but use firewire not usb 2.0 so much faster tranfer. Once you've got it all set up there's loads of software to download thats free loads of cool stuff. Check out:

Im currently using these on my set-up behind my TV

But thinking of getting something similar to do my shelves. Anyone got any other alternative to these ones as there £50 for 4 :S
Tbh the mac mini is mainly aimed at people who are replacing their old PC by just buying a new desktop and using their old bits. Or people like me and playing it through their TV as a home media centre.
And they do monitors but there alot of money
