Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Awesome write up, keep the vids coming too. The car looks really good fun on track, your driving looks good too! I bet its hard in a race situation to keep your cool and concentrate on good lines etc...
Will...
Was really impressed with that place, very professional, nice workshops and they explained all the changes they were making. Definitely improved the car.
Looks a lot better on those, mine had fast road done at abp, felt more positive on turn in and more lift off oversteer, although it was a fairly limited test of mine!
Cant you find a specialist trader who would take it? I know you wont get very top money for it but then its not your problem to worry about so much? Also found when selling cars that sometimes I have been offered pretty good money from traders.
Like these, remember having a big lift off oversteer moment in my mates at 100+ on the Marham trackday, really nicely balanced chassis! Sound nice too!
Looks and sounds awesome. Not owned an R56 yet however my dad had one and it was good, the only thing it suffered was the timing chain rattle on cold start but apparently it wouldn't cause any harm?
It has always seemed like you get good and bad ones, I used to have an R53 and never had a...
Hope they aren't losing their way with this, was so looking forward to seeing the bespoke shape of the RS model, big disappointment to see its no different from the standard car!
I helped dad take the back bumper off yesterday, we still don't know what exhaust is on it but it only has a small silencer hence why it is so loud! going to put the cats on this week I think.
Ah I see, didnt realise they did that! Bet the Swift and the Twingo would be fairly evenly matched on track, Twingo would have a slight advantage I'd imagine with slightly better handling and more power but bet it would be pretty close!
Ive not found the boot too small, used to have a Cooper S though and that really did have a small boot! I thought the Twingo would have a small boot too? I wanted a Twingo when I bought this but decided to go for the cheaper option!
Absolutely spot on, original discs and pads from new and no brake fade (admittedly I wasnt going for the very latest braking) but still using them very hard. Lacking pace on the longer straights to the 172 / 182s but was so much fun, really adjustable handling. Don't hesitate to get it out on track!
Bit late but I finally got round to buying some photos from the Anglesey day. Also to update since buying the car almost a year ago, doing 6000 miles and a trackday... the car went in for MOT / Service last month and not a thing needed doing. I really am growing to love it the more I drive it /...
Small update, the car has been cleaned to an inch of its life over winter. All under trays have been off and thorough clean underneath. Failed its MOT last week on emissions (its decatted) so new cats ordered. Hopefully will be fitted soon!
A few pics...
Never driven one, but my friend had one who likes similar cars to me (good handling hot hatches) and he only kept his for about a month. Said it was very numb but went quite well in a straight line. There is one up at work and I do admit it sounds brilliant but still would not get one. Meg would...
Exactly this, surprisingly when driving it I was constantly wanting to throw it round a few corners as it felt well sorted! If I lived in a hot climate and wanted something to run round locally I think I would consider one of these!
