Drove a Twizzy today, was impressed overall. Obviously it's a way off a replacement for a car, but as an alternative to a scooter/ small bike I think it's a lot of fun!
Drive them both then decide would be my option, although I really don't like pcp deals so would go for what you can afford, just think at the end of the term you will own a car worth reasonable money if you buy it with a loan etc. I always see pcp as just signing up for pretty harsh depreciation!
Ive had 2 197s with no problems, although I sold them before 25k. Interestingly both had gearbox quirks but nothing to worry me too much. One was a bit stiff on the change at high rpm and the other made a strange noise when shifting at high rpm but they never caused any major issues. Would be a...
Thanks, yeah I have heard of a few people supercharging these but to be honest I don't see the point I would just buy a faster car rather than going down that route. I'm sure it would be a lot of fun though and the chassis feels like it would handle a lot more power.
Id like to just keep this...
Yeah we saw a few shifting when we were there. My mates hired a stage 2 Swift and raved about it, thats mainly what prompted me to buy mine!
The only issue I had all day was the esp light would come on after 1 lap and the ESP would desable, but to be honest it was good as I kept forgetting to...
Thought I would give a quick update on the Swift. I now have my plate on it, the Eibachs have settled in nicely now also.
The car has now covered 30k miles, it seems to be running better than ever, the gearbox feels nice and smooth and the engine feels to pull well (relatively!)
I took it on a...
Really like that in an odd way, prefer the concept of it than the actual look of it. I think its good that manufacturers are still making interesting cars!
Why not? The 197s are so much fun on track, I took mine a few times and thought it was perfect for the job.
I agree with what you are saying with the 172 though, a great car, just I wouldn't sacrifice a 197 for one unless I had to financially (assuming you are going to use it on the road too)
Re: Ultra Red 200 ordered. Pictures at the docks added.
Looks awesome this! I wouldn't touch the suspension / spacers either, they drive so sweetly with the standard set up it would be not worth it in my opinion. Reminds me of my old 197 :(
I think you would enjoy one!
The running costs are not bad, mine averages 36 mpg with a mixture of driving, I dont do any particularly long journeys, mainly 5-10 miles with the odd blast. I do run on super unleaded though as when I ran a few tanks of 95 when I got it the same driving was...
Just seen this on Yahoo news, what a nutter! This guy must be really pissed!
