Decision to write off gets more likely as cars get older and worth less.
If the cost to repair + the predicted salvage= greater than value of the car then a total loss is declared
so if you do 3ks worth of damage and they can get 1.5k for the damaged vehicle it would have to be worth 4.5k...
Standard for standard disagree the chasis is better on the CTR. The idependent rear suspension is undeniably better than the RS, yes turn in is better on the clio as is the steering feel, but thats it. The civic would be quicker on high speed circuits without doubt.
Just to clarify, if your insurance decided to repair the vehicle it will NOT be classfied. CAT D or C etc only happen in the event of a write off and is directly related to the value of the car and the cost of repair.
So for example a clio 200 with 4ks worth of damage would not be written off...
Stunning Alan.
I am 100% sure you made the right decision to keep as much as I like the RS.
Can't help but think the latest STi is a real hidden secret. Rare to see one about.
nah they reasonably cheap to run to be honest. Only oil changes upto 125k, so cheap servicing. Lets put this in perspecitve, the mechanicals are volvo. the alternator happens to be ford though!!! lol Front brake pads from ford were £60
Far more horror stories r.e renaults. Had mine over...
mpg is all about driving style with STs. When i used mine day to day, would get 33mpg on a mixed drive.
The owners forum is split down the middle of those who can get decent mpg and those who can. remap geniunely helps!
Build is rock solid. Mine is on 50k now and had the alternator...
I have upgraded to gold memebership. It shows on my online account and in my memberships section, but my profile stills says silver and it will not let me onto online gaming? Any suggestions?

your spot on, but better han losing 2NCBs. When my 182 was stolen, the policy when up about £100, even though it was total loss claim. If I'd have not had protected NCB, due a previous claim in the year, I would have had zero no claims bonus, but instead went from 4yrs to 2yrs NCB.
Some insurance companies, namely Bell, Admiral etc, do cancel the policy in the even of a total loss fault claim and do not give you a refund for the remainder of the year.
Your NCB will protect you from a larger rise in premium.
Market value is exactly that, you need to haggle, but prices...
