Just fitted new set of contis on the front and basically they are as bad as the worn ones i had on b4(yes they have been worn in).
Will not put any power down regardless of how u apply the throttle.
Bridgestone 720s have been recommended.
Any suggestions please.
Just received my local free paper, and noticed a Renault dealer selling a Cup.

The Little green light on the dash is the optimum point to change gear i.e when u select the next gear you are more or less straight on the power.
I agree with frosty about hitting the rev limiter, as thats the whole point, not to cause engine damage.

Can relate to your comments scoobyP1 many years ago when I had a bog std 5 GT turbo Mk2, an original 2wd cossie pulled up next to me at the lights completely covered in grey primer. I looked at it and thought what a shed! lights changed and that was that, he...

Had a go with a sapphire cossie today off the lights, road conditions were a bit damp but managed to get a good start.
pretty level all the way up to about 80-85 then I decided to back off.
I was 2 up he was on his own.
Looked like he was going for it as front end of his car was coming up...
Just had my 3rd set of contis on the front , present mileage 10900 i.e approx 5k per set.
youre doing well at 8k,as my missus drives every day and I mainly only get to drive mine at w/ends. (she tells me she hardly ever boots it either!)
Cheers

Hi Everyone,
Just like to know if anybody knows of a harder wearing tyre than the original contis that come fitted as standard?
Ive just gone over the 10k mark and will shortly be in need of a 3rd set of front tyres.
Considering my missus drives the car 5 days a week and claims she doesnt...

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone knows of a harder wearing tyre than the standard contis? Done just over 10k and nearly on to my 3rd set(on the front that is).
Yes I know its a powerful car etc,etc as pointed out by a technician in my local Pro-Tyre depot, but is this not a tad excessive...

Just thought Id let you guys know that BP SUL is 97ron not 98 cus I always check the pump.
Shell Optimax is actually 99ron as apart from a handful of fill ups my car has always been run on it.
As for prices I get it for 78.9 or 79.9 dependant on which garage I use.

Unfortunately cant claim polishing under paint warranty. First polish was a good will gesture by supplying dealer. Havent dared pricing up getting it done myself!
As for hosing off, took ten minutes graft to get the last dropping off, just a few minutes after it appeared. Gloucester...
