It's not a warranty as such though? Isn't that just my rights? It seems a bit ambiguous. If it's described as "excellent throughout" on the website what are my rights? What do you think would be considered reasonable/unreasonable to assume?

Ok turns out it's 2250 with no warranty, 2350 with 1 month and 2400 with 3. Have decided to leave it for now since I'm not keen on the mileage.

Ok, with the warranty will it cover pretty much anything to do with the engine, pumps, exhaust etc? I bet he'd do the warranty for £100 if I give him the cash and it's peace of mind. Who does the repairs, the garage or RAC?

Where would you find an engine for £200? Had a quick search and they're all about £400. I'm guessing another £200 fitting too? Not the best with cars :smile: RAC I believe

Thanks, really tempted. More of a ticking noise I think. Comes with a months warranty for the engine and gearbox I believe, or 3 months for £2400 which I wasn't really tempted by, think the extra 3 months is it worth it?

I went today and got the price down to £2250. Few small scuffs on the front passenger alloys, bonnet full of small chips and a few over the body. Full service history just from independents, all the belts were done at around 79k 3 years ago by an independent. He didn't know when the clutch was...

Probably gonna test drive tomorrow, hopefully all is ok and he accepts for the lower bid.

It's up for £2500, I was thinking offer £2200? It's an 04 so if the cambelt is done every 5k it should have been done within a year? Will check aux/cam/dephaser are done. Are they all worth £600 off?
