I just did it from where the subframe mounts to the body, or just a bit forward of there. Its not "central" so to speak but will give you good access to underneath. Failing that use two jacks, one on each side if you require both wheels off the floor?

Subframe is all I use - Never the sills, even if they have reinforced jacking points. Years of owning rotting metro gtis made me too wary!

Wait til the oil temp is up, not just water temp. Stick to the servicing guidelines (personally I usually halve all oil change times listed) and you should be OK. Dont mash the gears when changing as said above.

Split boost hose? Can affect some engines differently, some dont seem too badly affected (usually common rails in my experience) whereas some are undrivable
