Doubt the problem (whatever it is!) has anything to do with you mods mate.
My idling problems was similar to yours, when standard, and still now thats it tuned......
Agree with you on everything apart from the above statement.
If I had the choice between a VTS and a GTi, Id take the 106 every day.
But who says they are faster.....cos they are most definately not!
FFS...all they go on about is how the 2.0ls and turbos will kill you....well of cause!
At the end of the day, a standard or mildly tuned GTE/GSI wont compete with the valver.
Ive raced a pretty tuned GTE when mine was standard and wiped the floor with him, but sadly no recent experience...
The quality of the K-Tec kits compared to Prima are awesome.
My mate who does all my body was very impressed with all my K-Tec stuff, needless to say hes had to do a lot more work on the prima stuff on my bros old R5GTT....
well mine passed on the emissions, its just Ive got the original K-Tec exhaust system with straight through de-cat which makes it very very LOUD!
MOT guy said he wouldnt pass it as it was so loud, so the simplest thing to do is stick the cat on so it quietens it down at bit....keep him happy!
I went from 195/50/15s to 195/45/16s on my valver.
Noticed an ever so slight decrease in acceleration in say 1st, after that you really dont notice....
Just spent the last hour tearing my garage apart trying to find my cat for the valvers MOT re-test on Friday.
Quite typically, it was in the last place I looked!
Id forgotten how big it was compared to my straight through de-cat pipe.....
Its got disconnected when the mirror was pulled in.
Nice touch Renault did was when they made the cars, they only made the wire long enough to reach if the mirror is out. Mine got disconnected when someone knocked my wing mirror in.....
