Try bridging the remote and the positive terminal to see if it turns on, if it does then itis deffo your remote cable...
If not try conecting a 12v bulb between positive and negitive to see if it works, if not it is either your power or your ground... and as you say it is grounded, then it...
I just photocopied my mates cert and tip-exed it put my details in copied it again and faxed to them job done!
Bit naughty but worth the £400 I saved back then!
Worth replacing, because if you bodge it and it splits and you dont notice it you have a bigger bill... I had mine done for £60 inc parts and vat... Easy!
