Should I change my R27 for an R26?

It will defo be a red one - is it Ultra Red? I know it makes sense to do it, but... I dunno. I need a longer test drive. Or, get someone local with one to take me for a proper spin.

Should I change my R27 for an R26?

Damn you all, lol. I think I am, I was impressed by the test drive. Not as amazingly quicker as I was expecting, but it is only 30BHP I guess. It didn't feel massively bigger either. Mm....

Should I change my R27 for an R26?

I can do the swap for not a lot of money, but do people think I should? The main reason I am looking is my 33 mile each way commute 3 times per week, which can be a bit frustrating in the Clio. The Megane seems better suited. What will I lose by changing to the Megane? I guess it won't...

    Weathered lights

They can be polished with a rotary and compound to restore them quite easily and quickly

    Focus RS correction

Nice work there. You should get a rotary though, DA is too much hard work!

    My new 200

Looks awesome! The 'moving lights' would have finished it off a treat though - they are darker/black, and look awesome on white!

    Paint Correction - Focus

Just be sensible with it. They can run away from you, but if you get a decent backing plate, it makes a world of difference (the 3M one) They literally cut work times to about a quarter of that of a DA. Get one, learn how to use it and actually enjoy machine polishing. I hate DA's for...

Anyone with a PC polisher able to do me a huge favour

If you do soak it in tar remover, then don't do it in the sun, or let it dry!

Heat it up with a hair dryer too, and get some dental floss behind it if you can...

    Can I still buy 197 H&R Springs?

As title tbh. Where can I buy these from? They were on K-Tec, but now, not so much :( Russy

Best Cleaning Stuff for my clio

Mike, where in Oldbury are you? If you want some help, or to try some gear out, then my house is like some kind of ClioSport detailing booth, so feel free to pop over :)

Anyone with a PC polisher able to do me a huge favour

Tried white spirit? I wouldn't use a DA on that, it will just work it into the paint!

    Paint Correction - Focus

Nice bit of Rotary action there Booshypoos, none of this DA nonsense. Ford paint is a piece of pish to correct, gotta love it! What do you think of the Kestrel?
  21. RussZS

    God damn VW paint

You can use the same pads on the rotary I tried to correct Pedro's bonnet with his G220 yesterday, and it knocked the swirls back about 30%. Whip out the Makita, few passes with 203S on a Megs Polishing pad, and they were gone. Rotary is the way forward. Da is such a chore.

    WAX question

You don't need 106, if you're going to refine with PO85RD anyway...

    WAX question

I'd always recommend a paint cleanser of some kind to remove the polishing oils - #80 for example is very oily, which may reduce the durability of the wax. SRP would be fine, or something like Lime Prime or similar.

    2 day clean.

Sorry to bump this, but that looks stunning Matt!! Do the Britemax compounds work well via DA?

Anyone in the West Mids fit HID's to my 197?

Hello folks, I've just changed my headlights on my 197, so now I want to get a 6k HID kit fitted, but I'm too retarded to do it myself. Has anyone in the West Mids done this before, and fancy doing mine please? Beer tokens will cross palms, of course. Also, recommendation for a HID kit...

Dawn, Saphir is very nice, but just get BOS - job done. Did you use Cleaner Fluid then Autobahn on your wheels? I've not tried that combo yet.

    AG SRP

It might just be your technique has improved, so you are applying less? I asked the question when I went there last year, and they said it's been the same since about 2001... If you use too much, it dusts like a ho, and can be a pig to remove. It works a treat on their red palm applicators too.
