As above, are these just for driver comfort (shielding the heat from entering in the car) or do they protect the bodywork or any gubbins? They’re a pain when working on the car (track car) and was just wondering about removing them completely. Thanks Mark
Can anyone recommend a decent functional but not mega-bucks roofscoop please. The only ones I've seenare carbon-fibre and £200-£300, presumably there must be GRP or plasticalternatives??. Need a proper workingone with directional vents for the inside. Thanks, Mark
Currently I’m running 888’s on one set of wheels for use on the track and have a set of brand-new T1-R’s on another set for the road (not that I do a lot of road miles, but just saves wearing down the 888’s). I’m going to have to replace the 888’s soon, they’ve lasted really well with approx. 2k...
Since removing all the carpets and sound-deadening etc I could do with either building a false floor maybe 2cm higher, or just fitting longer pedals - obviously this option would be easier. Anyone done this or know of an OEM looking set but longer? Thanks Mark
I've just been on the phone to AeroCatch (Specialty Fasteners) and they now do a metal back-plate with captive-nuts - to save having to faff around with those fiddly little nuts and washers with one hand while trying to screw with the other hand.
Am fitting some AeroCatches to my boot and have...
My standard PAS tank appeared to be leaking following a day on track, didn't seam to be leaking from any cracks or a bad cap seal etc. I've since found out that the cap is a pressure-valve and that they're designed to let the pressure out through the valve in the centre of the cap and therefore...
Am I right in thinking the difference is just that the crotch clip (into the buckle) has two straps going from it? Presumably are these then meant to be then secured to two mounting points?
I saw a 6 point yesterday and both crotch straps were mounted to the same point.
Also the crotch...
I’m having some 421’s put in as we speak and will therefore have the original cams spare, is there are market for original cams and if so how much should I advertise them for? - They’ve only done 24k.
I’m going to have a go at spraying a 2nd set of track wheels myself, they don’t have to be perfect but knowing me I’ll try and get them as close as possible. I used some white Enamel spray paint the other day from Halfords repairing a scratch on our backdoor external hinge and the finish looked...

3rd up on the left from bottom, looks like a picture of a headlight, but the headlight fuses look to be further up??
When checking for something else I noticed the fuse had blown but as far as I can tell everything is working ok??
I’ve sprayed my door side-strips satin black. I took my time and sanded them, applied a few coats of primer, let them dry for 24 hours then rubbed down with 2000 paper then a few coats of satin black, again let them dry and then sanded down with 2000 and then a final couple more coats of satin...
I have the K-tec/Janspeed Stealth system and de-cat on my track 172, I’ve been thinking about popping the centre section from the Supersport stealth on and loosing my centre-silencer and a few kg’s. It would be fun to have a bit more noise and I can always swap them over if it gets a bit too...
Is my PH1 front diamond the same as the ones fitted to the PH2 and 182’sAlso, how on earth does it come out as there don’t look to be any screws underneath, does it just pop out? Thanks.
I need to leave the 172 around the in-laws for a couple of weeks while we have some work done on the house and I need to clear the garage out. The car will be under a car-port but I want to protect it from the in-laws & dog etc pushing past it. I’ve done a search on the site but couldn’t find...
I have the AST Sportline 2 coil-over set and just noticed at the weekend that the driver’s front spring is the wrong way up. May be this is’nt a problem, but it has an “up” arrow on it but unfortunately its pointing down. The other three are all pointing up.Now is this a problem? - I can’t...
I ‘m going to try bleeding my brakes myself following a track-day yesterday, the fluid is new so just want to check for air bubbles in the callipers and push a drop of fluid through the callipers.
Am fairly mechanically competent and will do it the old fashioned way and get somebody to push...
Just filling in some details on my 'Harry's Lap Timer'App and I need to know the Drive Ratio?
And also if anyone knows them each of the 5 gear's ratios?
Thanks!!
Does anyone please know the correct torque needed for the single large nut that holds the hub on?
I just want to take the nut off and clean it up along with the inside of the ‘cup’ around the nut as my 2118’s don’t have centre caps.
It’s for a 2000 172, thanks.
At present I have a set of immaculate (refurbished) F1’s on my track 172 and a set of 2118’s for the track.
The F1’s have Yokohama Parada Spec 2’s on them and the original plan was to use these on the road and to get to the track and also for the track it was wet.
The 2118’S have 888’s on...
Along with a few other bits I’m upgrading the standard 172 callipers to some Willwood 4-pots.
The car is a 90% track-car so I don’t mind the poor cold performance or the squealing etc.
Its currently got Brembo HC’s and Carbon Lorraine RC6 pads in (along with hoses and uprated fluid etc)...
I have turned my PH1 172 into a track car and removed the headlight height adjuster switch in the dashboard as I knew I would never need it again and also needed the space for something else.
I am replacing the headlight units themselves with identical OEM units as the old ones are a bit...
I've searched through all the past threads and truthfully there is so much conflicting advice and the Toyo guide itself is a bit vague - I know it lists a range of pressures per weight of car, but is this for front or rears, or both???
I've a set of new 888's 195/50/15's on my stripped out PH1...
The plastic CAF on my 200 runs from the back of the grill, it connects to a rubber hose about 12" long (see picture attached) running along the right-hand side of the engine which then connects to the air-box.
The rubber hose has a spout on it facing down, to which is connected another thinner...
Yozzasport/Readyforthetrack and now K-Tec are selling big disc (330m) upgrades for the 197/200/Megane (all use the same 312m disc and Brembo calliper).
They both do standard (312m) sized separate bell/rotor set-ups, but they also do the kit with larger 330m rotors to fit on the bell and...
Has any with a 197 or 200 run a CAF from the passenger side fog-lamp to the acoustic valve?
I’ve disconnected and plugged the vacuum hose to the valve actuator so it is permanently open. It just seems a strange location for the valve as it must just suck up hot-air.
Was thinking about...
Am going to get a 2nd set of wheels and therefore need to know the correct offset, does anyone please know?
(I don’t yet have my 200 so cant look on the OEM wheels.)
I understand the bell is black but what colour is the braking surface?
If the braking surface is black does this wear off or is the disc black all the way through?
(Are the non-grooved HC discs black?)
I’m thinking about a set for the front, but if they are all black it might look a bit...
