Bleeding brakes

Car  220 Trophy
I ‘m going to try bleeding my brakes myself following a track-day yesterday, the fluid is new so just want to check for air bubbles in the callipers and push a drop of fluid through the callipers.

Am fairly mechanically competent and will do it the old fashioned way and get somebody to push down on the brake pedal as I undo the nipple a touch.

Just have a few quick questions?

Should the engine be running when I do this (with the vacuum assistance)?

What size tubing do I need for the nipples?

Is it necessary to pump the pedal and if so is this done before the nipple is slackened or while it’s slackened?

Thanks!!
