Just to add, Ive got a number plate with the letters mis-spaced, had it since I got the car (March last year) and so far so good. I have kept the legal typeface and not altered the letters so its still very readable. I think if you play with the letters to make them look like something they are...

The best way to notice the A/C unit sapping power is to be trvelling along with A/C off, pick a constant speed, guessing aroung something like 4,000rpms and the hit the demist button.

I remember ChavyBoy closed his bonnet once and instead of dropping it a few inches to shut it he carefully let it sit and then "clipped" it shut by pressing down on the bonnet, this caused two small dents with his hands when closing it. Is this something similar?

Tom, I know its possible to have the display working with a Sony setup (MD head, Mp3 changer) but I was wondering what the alternatives are if I didnt have Sony. Trouble is, I dont think there are that many MD head-units about but I hate having CDs in the car - they are soo big and clumsy.

Ok, its time to Ice up my car (but not ott - dont want to spend too much) I want a MD headunit, MP3/CD changer to fit under passenger seat and maybe upgrade the fronts and dash tweeters. Oh and it must all work with the display and steering remote. What do you recommend?

Yeah, i used to sometimes drive on the motorway holding the middle bit (palm in center and fingers over the top), but on the 172 i cant as the horn keeps going off, i guess its like scott said, if you press the top parts then its quite sensitive.

I guess if it looks the same and works the same then thats ok. Might try and "force" my wipers and lights to come on so that I can test the new windscreen, if the work the same then ill be happy. Now got to work out how to remove my richbrook tax disc holder (crack goes right through it) and...

Personally I never really liked the look of the CTR compared to the 172 - seemed too boy racerish - that is until I saw one in silver!!! Pulled up next to it on the A4 (?) and was in a lot of traffic so couldnt play but it did look nice - soo much better than the red and blacks ive seen...

In PGTI it said the limiter was raised to 8000rpms. But I believe its not. I think someone on this forum has however had their limiter raised that far tho... (on a 172 not cup)

Got it booked in for the 29th ! They are BUSY! One thing is that I was told it wouldnt have Renault on it. But apparently Renault dont make the screens and it will come from the same place. How can I make sure its the right screen (ie, heat reflective) before its fitted? Also, arent all...

Because of a crack in my windscreen, RAC windscreens will be coming to replace it. I believe the 172 is different to other clios, is this correct? I said this on the phone and they said that there is a normal or heat reflective, i said the heat reflective one. Anything else I need to know...

One the 172 the limiter is lower when the engine is cold, something like 6750 or something, youll notice if you try and floor it with a cold engine. And when warm the lower gears are aroung 7250 but Im not sure about 4th or 5th.
