Dad was with me he was fully comp etc to drive the car, but the guy didnt even ask about insurance just flately refused it!
Just the fact we pretty much offered him the money there and then if he would give us a test drive but he just didnt seem interested...
true but then we asked him if it had been sitting there since decemember, and he said no he drives it around now and then to keep it going ???
Then he got annoyed when we kept asking for a test drive and said someone had phoned and said they would give him 900 without even looking at the car...
L906 VLP is the reg...
Also he said it had 12 months MOT but the tax was 6 months out meaning he must have driven it to the test centre, unless he towed it but unlikely I think, was a bit of a dodgy area...
The ticking noise was the tapets or something apparently?
Yeah he reversed it out his garage but only half way for some reason, there was a strange clicking/ticking noise coming from the engine though, my bet is its been well thrashed...
Not sure if this is anyones on here, I dont think it is but dont want to offend...
Saw a 16v in the Dudley area, just over 100k, mint condition, had a new clutch, gearbox, bearings, and disks apparently. going for a grand seemed like a good deal but then he wouldnt let us test drive it...
I used to have a 190bhp saab 9000 which was chipped if I remember rightly, timed it with my mate with the passanger seat (crude i know) got 7.5s and it was a bad start, not bad for a brick...
Yeah its just a pain, obviously cant drive it till I get it fixed and its not half frustrating having to pay some guy over 40 quid for 30 minutes work and then failing it :@
6 months + 28days (28 days for you to reply to the original NIP in your case the officer telling you there is a chance you will be prosecuted for the offence etc) for them to issue you with a court summons I believe, a decent letter to them should get you off the hook...
Front tyre was slightly too worn, which is fair enough, but then under the rear door (drivers side) there is a small hole say 2cm across rusted through, its the seal apparently? Anyway this failed the MOT, not happy as I dont see why thats a failure the guy was a bit padantic if you ask me :@
My friend works at the local import centre at the docks, always telling me how he rags the alphas that come off etc (no renaults thou ;) apparently the high spec mercs and such like are only allowed to be driven by specialist few ie because they know these people wont redline every gear!
It doesnt actually specify, central markings would indicate it includes painted ones as well, and I think in this case the other driver didnt make any attempt to go round just totally neglected it all together
